So he is either cashing in and failing or he is gonna get dupped into putting his case on the line against someone and losing it. The culmination of the R-Truth story

Oh my god. If they use the 'Becky Lynch clause' to give Priest the belt without ever pinning Seth that would be goddamn fantastic. All those people blocking the cash in only for him to get the title without having to use the contract. "Priest, you go be a champion...I'm going to go be a mother"

Apart from a few instances they seem to put the mitb case on people they don't seem to have any real plans for and no idea how to make them cash in either.

This killed Priest to me, like really bad.
Not only did Seth say he's keeping the belt, he doesn't show up AT ALL, but when we finally see him backstage he's barking about fighting Drew McIntyre, not one mention of Seth whatsoever
This is one of the dumbest things I've seen in the HHH era and it's not even close.

Congratulations to Austin Theory for no longer being the dumbest MitB holder in history.

Said it in the raw thread and I’ll say it here. If the plan is he wins the belt at or shortly after Mania, the decision to have him not cash in makes sense. If we’re here in April and it hasn’t happened, then it’s weird.
I don’t want to see the guy become cannon fodder in the Punk/Rollins feud. If that means a few weeks more of “looking dumb,” fair enough.

See, what this is now making me wonder is if they might be wanting to redo the Cody thing with Priest cashing in in the middle of Punk / Seth and doing this whole, "We never settled this, who is the winner?!" thing where they just go a year without having a rematch for no damn reason.

It feels like more than ever WWE really needs to either A)Get rid of MITB or B) Change up the rules on how/when someone can cash in. Maybe it's time to change that the winner now has a guaranteed title match Summerslam or Survivor Series (maybe have the briefcase be defended at ppvs in the mean time). As the briefcase really hasn't helped anybody get over and has more or less become a crutch to get the title off someone who has lost steam but they want to keep looking strong.
Cause honestly, it feels like Priest as a solo act has lost the momentum he had gotten post Mania.

I saw someone somewhere else say Money in the Bank should work like the G1 where you continually have to defend it, which would kind of both necessitate keeping the holder strong and in-story incentivize them to hurry up and cash in. I like that idea a lot.

I like that idea a lot. It is taking from the GOTG. The holder could not cheaply cash it in he had to inform Dario ahead of time so he could promote the inevitable match but also if they did not cash in as quick as possible they would likely lose it because they would be forced to defend it possibly losing it to someone else.

I like that idea a lot. That's basically the idea I'm going with. Basically either give it the Summerslam main event, or if you want more intrigue the Summerslam or Royal Rumble and the briefcase must be defended. The women's MITB has at least had the benefit of getting cashed in during reigns where the crowds had kind of become sick of the champ so the surprise cash in could kind of work...and aside from maybe Nikki ASH the women that had the brief case were ready for the world title as well. It just feels like they've constantly been searching for the magic of Edge's first cash in, and while there have been a few moments that worked, they were either based on timing (Rollins cashing in) or guys already being super over with the crowd (Ambrose, Big E, Punk)

Man, they're not just having people hold a belt forever but now the MITB briefcase, too.

Add Truth to this. Dude's funny gimmick switched into idiocy today. Before it felt like he was just being silly but still he'd benefit the group. Tonight he f***ed up and he looked like a bumbling idiot. Nobody looked good here.

Well, I don’t think we’re ever going to have someone hit the one-year mark as the briefcase holder. Just too many logic holes for them to not try and capitalise on a champion at any point while they’re vulnerable in the process of other matches and feuds.

Ok, someone has to photoshop Priest as Dante (from the Biggest Idiot Ever scene).
