Well if Seth's addressing his health situation and gonna be at RAW, Priest kind of HAS to cash in whether he's gonna relinquish it willingly or not or he's going to look like the biggest moron in the whole known universe right?? Ehh, could go that medical won't allow him to compete so Damian can't cash to avoid it.

IF Priest is able to cash in his contract after Rollins vacates it assuming he does , it could set an interesting presedent for the next MITB.
The holder tries to injure the current champion so all they have to do is cash it in without ever having to wrestle for it.

Just make the Royal Rumble winner be world champion and the runner-up be his Wrestlemania opponent and boom, there ya go. Priest can win, Punk be the runner-up. We're set.

I could see the Rumble being for the title. I'd rather they not get cute but if they absolutely hafta.
Seth relinquishes the title Monday. Not on-site but from a hospital medical facility so Priest doesn't look dumb. Tells Punk he better win because he's coming for him.
Rumble-time Drew eliminates Cody to push their issue. Punk eliminates Drew and wins. Either from getting beat up or the rigors of the Rumble Punk is toast. Gets cashed in on by Priest immediately. Priest wins.
Seth can be pissed Punk blew it losing on a cash-in, Punk can say he won and it's not his fault Seth blew his knee, they do the match at Mania still one way or another if they can, with or without the championship.
EDIT - If he does vacate live on Raw perhaps Priest shows up saying that won't be necessary seeing as he's got this handy-dandy briefcase, Drew puts the kibosh on that AGAIN because he wants to finally win the title in front of a crowd and the Rumble is his next best chance.

I think the opportunity to dethrone Roman is more valuable than the second rate world title, any other year I agree. I say just have Damien cash it in, then when Seth is ready have a rematch where Rollins can win via quick roll up and then have Punk vs Rollins for real at Mania

In the likely event that Punk isn't going to be able to face Rollins, I have the perfect opponent for Phil in Philly He was supposed to retire!

If Priest interrupts Seth's speech to cash in, even better. Doesn't give him the satisfaction of respectfully relinquishing it.
I hope Seth will be ok shortly though.

As previously noted, Seth Rollins reportedly suffered a legitimate injury during his match against Jinder Mahal on the January 15th 2023 edition of WWE RAW. In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted that Rollins sustained a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus. Rollins previously tore his MCL in early 2017 but was able to perform at Wrestlemania 33. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported the following about how long Rollins might be out of action… “Rollins could return from a torn meniscus, if surgery is required, in 3-4 weeks if he was able to push it, but 4-6 weeks is usually a more likely recovery. Rollins should be good to perform at Wrestlemania this April but other major events before that could be questionable.” SmackDown has moved along just fine without its world champion being a regular part of the show for the last two and a half years. Raw can make it through the next two months without its world champion.

Isn't there precedent for giving Priest the title automatically due to MTIB holder Asuka getting the title after Becky had to go on maternity leave?

I really hope he doesn't have to relinquish the title.
IF he does he'll come back hotter than ever. It would fit perfectly with the "the title is taking a toll on him" story they've done, so when he comes back to challenge it'll mean more than it has with other champions.

oh yeah he is relinquishing the title or priest is cashing in for sure. damn. They HAVE to get Priest to cash in, preferably with some kind of leg lock submission that Rollins bravely tries to fight through but ultimately has to tap because of the injury, just to make Priest look like a sadistic bastard. Get The Judgement Day to guard the ring preventing McIntyre from stopping things. Priest would look like an utter fool and would lose all credibility if he doesn't use this opportunity.

I hope he can make it.
I don’t care how inconsistent/illogical it is, I don’t want priest anywhere near the title match at Mania. He’s not ready. Drew/Punk ain’t f***ing terrible but Roman/Cody/Rock and Rhea/Becky trump everything else if Seth’s out.

Could WWE thread the needle where Seth Rollins loses the belt but still heals up and faces CM Punk at WrestleMania? Or does that match need the championship now that Punk has adopted this whole “finish my story” arc?
In theory, they could roll with Priest vs. Balor for the championship to end the Judgment Day AND have Rollins vs. Punk. But if Punk has to fight for the gold, then they’re kind of boxed into a corner.

Knees are so troublesome. When are we going to evolve to not have them?

I imagine he's giving up the belt regardless because they have zero idea about if he'll be ready for Mania
So take it off him, and if he's ready for Mania, give him his rematch at Mania
It's probably way too volatile a situation to keep him the champion and just not have him wrestle for two months at minimum.

People are saying if he can't go they should do Cody vs Punk but that title doesn't finish the story. It HAS to be the WWE title for Cody.
Also, if no cash-in then the winner of the Rumble should be given the title if Seth can't wrestle by mania.
