Which features 36 original hits by “punk rockers” like Men at Work, INXS, Crowded House, The Cars, Erasure, Huey Lewis and the News, and more.
Ok ok ok ok I'm confused. Does any of these songs sound like punk at all? Did the company that made this have any clue about punk rock? Are they so disconnected? Why do the people in this ad talk like stoner types?

I'd say some of these are post-punk. But if I had to guess, it's deliberate misaimed marketing.

The Tubes KIND of count, but the song featured (She's A Beauty) is a far cry from their roots.

That woman got a stick of chewing gum, a wig and instructions to say "YEAH!".
Think what you like but she accomplished the mission!

Heck of a New Wave/Alternative collection, and maybe some bands that were considered punk at one time. I like how it was just called “PUNK”

I only trust long haired rockers past their sell by date when they're selling Monster Ballads.

Seen this video before on Youtube. What a classic. They completely missed the actual punk renaissance of the 1990s and mistook new wave for punk.

Out of all the Billy Idol songs they chose "Eyes Without a Face."

Because this kind of thread was posted a few years back.

I forget the name. But there was a compilation of 70s mellow gold type stuff. And they played the commercial ad nausea. I had that damn thing memorized.
It featured:
"Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks "Rock Me Gently" by Andy Kim Chevy Van" by Sammy John "The Night Chicago Died" by Paper Lace
And that’s all I remember.

Why is this one of our like... most recurring threads? I'd say some of these are post-punk. But if I had to guess, it's deliberate misaimed marketing. most of these are New Wave.

Albums should stay true to their labels like so
Only gripe is you can never buy them in stores
