Mixed opinions on todays Race to be honest.
I am a Mclaren Fan so am very happy to see them as a front running team again.
I'm very happy for Oscar getting his first win.. Hopefully first of many more to come.
However I'm not sure I agree with the strategy for Lando to give up the win.. Right now Lando is the closest to Max in the championship and if it is possible he is the one who could grab it at the end.. If they were lose the Drivers title by just a small margin of points I feel they might regret this move later.
But for now a Mclaren 1-2 makes me happy.

WWE-esque finish at the brickyard 400 today as Kyle Larson won but not before a wreck caused a red flag in the 1st overtime attempt but during the 2nd overtime attempt another wreck took place but no caution til the race was in the final lap

Stop crying.” I get that. It’s the inconsistency with me. A car barely gets out of shape and they throw the yellow immediately. In this case a car is parked in the racing line for well over half a lap and they wait until the white flag to throw the caution. I don’t think it’s some sort of Hendrick conspiracy but the inconsistency kills me. |

NASCAR cup returned from Olympic hiatus with a controversial ending to the richmond race, Austin Dillon gambled on starting on the bottom for the restart, lost the lead to Joey Logano only for Logano and Denny Hamlin to crash in the final lap to give Dillon, who came in 32nd in points, the win and a playoff spot. The win and a playoff spot could be taken away from Dillon beacuse Austin Dillon's team radio had said "I don't care how you do it" before he hit Joey Logano and then "Wreck him! Wreck him!" before Denny Hamlin.
"Pop Pop is proud of you," Richard Childress then said on the radio. I expect penalties to be announced within the next few days

This is one of the many problems with "Win and you're in" with the playoffs. I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner than now.
Honestly, they need to do away with the playoffs. It feels so artificial.

NASCAR created this mess by having a “win and you’re in” format. If they want the playoffs, fine. That’s not going to change as much as I and many want it to, just like stage breaks aren’t going away. But get rid of a guy who’s in 32nd in the standings getting in because he got a win.
