With more time to think about it, I can't decide if that finish was absolutely brilliant or the single stupidest ending I've seen. I'm a bit more wishy washy on it but it really takes me out of it when other refs have the peripheral vision of a tuna fish while this dude has the vision of a mantis shrimp. It was really jarring.

For me, that's exactly the problem with when they run these finishes; going "This time we break convention and the ref notices" needs to be earned and be a big payoff or something, not just arbitrarily tossed out there as a surprise. If the ref will sometimes magically notice but not usually, it's just inconsistent and sloppy.

Finish would have been good if it was anyone but Owens, honestly. He's been the cheater in these matches long enough to know how to get away with it.

Also, if Logan's whole gimmick is a titanium-reinforced hand that does more damage (big "I don't think that's how this works" energy), what difference do brass knucks make?

I agree, but it somehow succeeded in making me dislike Paul even more, which is a feat unto itself. Especially all the chatter about his social media presence and going viral. 

I hope when Owens wins in the end he powerbombs Paul so hard it deletes his YouTube channel.

I think if all of this leads to the guys Logan Paul screwed over (Rey and Owens so far, maybe AJ and LA Knight next) giving him comeuppance at Wrestlemania in some sort of multi-man match, it'd be a really good story and an apropos way to end this current run he's on. Paul scams his way through matches, thinks he's untouchable, and then gets the receipt at WM when everyone gangs up on him every chance they get.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s different if a guy puts his foot on the rope during a pin; the ref catches the movement with his peripheral vision. But Owens did nothing to draw attention to his hand, which was only halfway facing the ref anyways.
