Okay, so maybe it's gonna change after him attakcing Punk when he's already injured, but up to that point, he really hasn't done anything heel-ish since the start of his supposed turn. Before that, he was being treated like he was the asshole because... what? He didn't agree he had to be the WWE Police and get involved in other people's problems, for some reason (while still largely protecting Seth's run by preventing Priest from doing the cheap cash-in)? Or because he didn't immediately forgive Jey, one of the guys who's been directly responsible for the Bloodline's reign of terror and who's actively ruined the lives of half the roster, after Jey has done precisely nothing to earn anyone's forgiveness?
Again, before the attack on Punk, I really don't see what McIntyre supposedly did that was so wrong. The closest was teaming up with the Judgment Day at Survivor Series, which really isn't a heel move. And frankly, had Punk not been injured, the attack wouldn't have felt like much of a heel action either.
Maybe there's something else I'm forgetting but if I am, that still goes to show that it's not consistent enough for me to think of him as a bad guy. Most of the time, the stuff he does that's supposed to make him look bad just makes me go "Yup. He's right. No lie here."

Didn’t he also attack Sami backstage and deliberately injure him after Sami tried to give him a pep talk?
He’s a heel. It’s the classic case of “Just because you’re right, doesn’t give you the right to be an asshole”

Didn’t he also attack Sami backstage and deliberately injure him after Sami tried to give him a pep talk? He’s a heel. It’s the classic case of “Just because you’re right, doesn’t give you the right to be an asshole” Even that one wasn't entirely gratuitous, though. Sami was also part of the Bloodline and therefore directly responsible for many of Drew's problems and not only has he done nothing to make it up to Drew, he then got in his face and gave him crap about his attitude AND started talking about Drew's family. So again, can't really blame him for snapping. Just because Sami's a face now doesn't mean Drew has any reason to have forgiven him. See, that's problem. Most of the time, he's not even being an asshole IMO. It's especially weird to me when in comparison, we often see faces genuinely acting like assholes (for example, assaulting security staff or managers to get at their rival, or going way overboard with their revenge) yet they're still treated like they're in the right. To me, it feels less like "just because you're right doesn't mean you get to be an asshole about it" and more "it's only a problem when Drew does it". #DrewMcIntyreDidNothingWrong

So again, can't really blame him for snapping. Just because Sami's a face now doesn't mean Drew has any reason to have forgiven him. By that logic Drew has no right to be mad about Roman screwing him yet he's spent over a year whining about it. Roman returns from cancer then a week later Drew violently attacks him from behind to set up a Mania match. Anything after that point is fair game and Drew deserves it, no? I don't recall him ever apologizing for it. In kayfabe surely Roman is within his rights to hate and want to screw that guy over for the rest of his life. Ricky Steamboat is like the only wrestler ever with any true moral high ground because pretty much everyone else was heel at some point and committed heinous actions.

He is complaining a lot and overall being a dick. That's making him detestable, at the very least.

It's kind of a thing where, yeah, he's being an asshole, but also everyone he's attacking had it coming anyway so I find it hard to mind.

He's a heel who is technically correct! The best kind of correct. The best kind of heel!

He's the best "Heel who thinks he's right/has a point" in a LONG, LONG time. Maybe the best ever, easily the best since Jericho was doing it. That's why he's compelling. He's justified in everything he's feeling he's just a total prick about it so you root for him but also want him to change his approach/attitude and someone to knock sense into him. I've been big on Drew since IWW, the only reason I don't want him to win the WHC at Mania is it feels like a participation trophy because Roman has to be all that really matters. I'd be all for him beating Reigns.

Dude's continuously dunking on a babyface who got injured. It's funny as hell, but that's still heel behavior.

Like all good heels, there's an element of truth to what he's been saying.

He is complaining a lot and overall being a dick. That's making him detestable, at the very least. I can see that, but I also think it's unsatisfying when a face gets screwed over and just goes "oh well, nothing I can do about it". (Though Drew definitely would've won that one match if he hooked a leg properly, and his blaming of Damien Priest's failed cash-in is just a scapegoat).

After Raw tonight his gimmick 100% seems to be "Conscience of the WWE & fans who's just extremely prickish and unfiltered about it", really not sure he qualifies as a heel right now just a dick. Perhaps the purest tweener to be at that level on the card.

I've seen this character cut one promo and it was mocking Punk for being injured then attacking his injury?
How is this guy not a heel?

He’s a total babyface in the eyes of this clearly unbiased Brit.
Seriously though he’s essentially the same character but is a dick now which was always the way to play it rather than his super serious boring heel run pre 2020. I’m still behind him because he should have got his moment in front of fans but didn’t and I was at Clash at The Castle. I was gutted on the night he didn’t win and still slightly bitter about it.
