Did she even live in Boston at anytime in her? I think AEW is teasing her debut five week in Boston. But, I always thought that was only her gimmick hometown,as a play on words being that her nickname is "The Boss." The only thing I found on Wikipedia says she's from Fairfield, California.

Yes, her Wikipedia provides more detail if you go down to "early career." She lived in Boston and trained with Chaotic Wrestling in Boston.

She's from California originally, but she has said in interviews that her family moved a lot in her childhood and actually did settle in Boston when she was a teenager, primarily to get top tier medical treatment for her special needs brother. Based on what she's said, I think she actually did go to high school there.

Pretty sure her Wiki also says her family moved around a lot but settled in Boston, so I'd imagine on that basis it would feel like home.

Even a gimmick hometown can mean something. Flair was born in Tennesse. Jim Ross is from California but if you keep going on at a group watch about how this is weird 'stolen cowboy valour' and he didn't even attend the college he claims to represent, everyone looks at you weird and your friends stop inviting you places.

She's from Boston in the same way William Regal is from Blackpool.

I remember there was a raw in Minnesota once and some people were going on about that being her home town. So I was confused when later people said it was Boston.

I feel like my whole life is a lie. He was born on at Fort Bragg, so it may have just been him being in a military family or something, given his grandparents were based in Oklahoma and he wound up going to highschool there. So, I get why he'd think of himself as an Okey for all intents and purposes.

Yeah she for sure grew up and lived in Boston. Almost all of her early matches are in the northeast and New England specifically.

CM Punk is from a Chicago satellite town, kind of like someone from Hemel Hempstead making being a Londoner their entire personality but it would be a brave man to bring that up in a promo unprompted. I don't think he'd see the funny side.

I always love a fake hometown. Like WCW deciding Booker and Stevie Ray deserved a "grew up on the streets" image and Houston wasn't tough enough for that, so we got Harlem Heat.

It's thinking very much steeped in casual racism as Harlem has a lot of association with Black culture in the US. And it was a rough place at that point in the 90's.
And that was one of the less racist ideas. One of the original ideas for Booker and Stevie in WCW was to debut them as slaves owned by their "manager", Colonel Rob Parker.
