By the logic of the ratings Hangman vs Swerve are awful draws and great draws

Third behind two NBA games. So, no big deal.

The dip is interesting for Swerve/Hangman because people definitely seemed to come back for the rising action of the match. Maybe they thought the match would be a Draw and then tuned out until nearer the end due to that but... yeah, weird
Pretty impressive overrun gain though, AEW making that a normal thing is definitely helping them and it was a great segment to have an overrun with

They need to finish up this Jericho/Callis feud. It’s gone on long enough.

They need to finish up this Jericho/Callis feud. It’s gone on long enough. Some people are already blaming it on Jericho when the Callis Family hasnt been exactly thrilling lately(see how their match vs Sting and Darby straight up tanked the rating last month)
Its probably done now and the next chapter will be Oespray.

Sammy was right about them in his promo. Everyone needs to move on to more interesting stuff.

The Jericho/Takeshita match had two commercial breaks during the quarter on a show that almost always loses viewers throughout the show so I wouldn't think about that too heavily.
Definitely a weirdly low number as the card itself boosted sales and seemed to generate a lot of fan interest. But that doesn't always translate to a big rating. I'll always remember that Punk/MJF match on Dynamite which everyone expected to do a gigantic rating and it ended up being incredibly pedestrian. But the show had a great closing angle that a lot of people saw so hopefully that leads to folks watching next week.

Tony Khan is apparently a bigger draw than Jericho and Takeashita

I can see audience interest dipping for Swerve and Hangman because they’ve done everything they can do (double turn aside). Like 2 months ago Hangman was drinking Swerve’s blood and Swerve was literally hanging him from the ropes. Another long match and people might be like “eh, I’ll come back for the finish.”

I have to admit; for a show as stacked as it was, that's a pretty disappointing number. I was expecting around 900k and a .30. Sucks that the rating was so low for one of the best shows they've ever put on. Just proves that when you are cold, it seems as if nothing you can do can make things hot.

It's also just how cable is, when other shit is on, people watch that live, people have shit to do? They don't watch it live. The number was fine all things considered, but I wouldn't call AEW cold, they've done higher numbers than this even just recently.

Its crazy what 1 cold/bad year can do to a company that is not the size of WWE. its gonna take a lot of work and luck to get to where they were

It's just gonna take work and luck as you said. And time as well.

And I can't even say last year was cold and bad when it had Wembley and plenty of stuff people actively liked and drew What hurt them more than anything imo was the injuries and the drastic need to change how they advertise/book venues, which thankfully they are with the latter. I don't think they need a lot of "Work and luck" to get back viewers, just keep doing what they're doing, ratings fluctuate all the time and we act like it's a deathblow to them, it never is.

I’m surprised at the “expected higher” rating talk. Not trying to downplay the card (though it didn’t scream killer to me) but ratings have been around here. Or so I thought. If ya look back at the last couple of ratings, they’re all over the place. The Hook/Joe Dynamite really drew for where they’ve been hovering. Last time they cracked over 900,000 was October.
“Bosston” and any impending Okada debut will be interesting to see what it nets them.

I've learned with AEW more than WWE the ratings tend to reflect how the previous week of Dynamite was booked
