What are some good examples of feuds that started with two people but somehow ended with two different people or more feuding?
A good example is Vince McMahon telling Ric Flair that his next loss would be his retirement. This leads to John Cena returning and defeating Chris Jericho to win the World Heavyweight Championship a year later.
Another would be how Bret Hart vs Goldberg for the WCW Title lead to Chris Benoit vs Sid for the WCW Title in less than a month.
Any others?

CM Punk calling out John Cena ended up with Triple H beating Kevin Nash in a sledgehammer ladder match.

What was supposed to be the Hart Family vs. Jerry Lawler blowoff at Survivor Series '93 instead was the next chapter in the Harts vs. HBK.

I think you are under selling the ramifications of that Flair angle.
The culmination of that angle was Undertaker beating Hunter in the Cell at Mania 28
Flair v everyone Flair v Shawn Shawn v Batista Shawn v Jericho Shawn v Taker Hunter v Taker

Kevin Owens/Ali having a midcard feud turning into Kofi/Daniel Bryan having a WWE title match and possibly the hottest program at WrestleMania is kinda crazy in retrospect

The culmination of that angle was Undertaker beating Hunter in the Cell at Mania 28 Flair v everyone Flair v Shawn Shawn v Batista Shawn v Jericho Shawn v Taker Hunter v Taker How did we get to HBK/Taker from HBK/Jericho? The elimination chamber screwjob was way after that feud and wasn't really connected. There was the HBK/JBL feud after HBK/Jericho and the mania 25 match really didn't have much of a story besides HBK is next in line to try to end the streak

Benoit Vs Sullivan started as Pillman vs Sullivan. This one is particularly impressive due to how infamous both feuds ended up being between "I respect you bookerman" and "Booking your own divorce".

He got everything in order and was rejuvenated by the JBL feud and wanted the ultimate challenge to prove it.

Benoit Vs Sullivan started as Pillman vs Sullivan. This is a weird one. They pretty much rebooted the storyline to a point where the Pillman feud no longer existed prior. Its retconned that Benoit was upset that they had to work with these guys and Sullivan thought Benoit was a punk for stepping up to him.

The Dusty Rhodes/Ted Dibiase feud had massive ripple effects...
Randy Savage used his win against Rhodes(who was distracted by Dibiase purchasing Sapphire) at Summerslam 90 for a title shot against Ultimate Warrior, which he constantly refused. This resulted in Savage costing The Warrior the title at the Royal Rumble which lead to a retirement match at Wrestlemania VII.
Savage lost the bout, but reunited with Elizabeth and served as a commentator for much of 1991 until Jake Roberts taunted him out of retirement which lead to the infamous snake biting segment. They then had a match at This Tuesday in Texas which Savage won, but Roberts had the last laugh by slapping Elizabeth.
They continued to feud into early 1992, which lead to Undertaker turning face against Roberts when he was about to hit Liz with a chair. This resulted in Undertaker defeated Roberts at Wrestlemania VIII.
So basically... Dibiase vs. Rhodes>Savage vs. Warrior>Savage vs. Roberts>Roberts vs. Undertaker.

Even that's missing a step with Warrior v Roberts then him leaving and it switching to Savage.

Undertaker. Actually, it started with Randy Savage and Dusty's feud in January 1990. Ted became part of it when he was sending the gifts to Sapphire. Right after Summerslam 1990 they transitioned Randy to chasing Warrior while Dusty and Ted went down another road. So really... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair Randy's feud with Dusty and interference from Ted led to him challenging Warrior. This led to Warrior denying Savage and Savage costing him the title at Royal Rumble 1991. From there Savage and Warrior feud until Warrior beats him at WM 7. During that match he and Liz are reunited and he retires engaged to Liz. They get married but Jake Roberts and Taker interrupt the wedding. This results in Savage trying to get reinstated and chasing Jake until he got his match with him and beat him. Randy rode that momentum to a title shot against Flair at Wrestlemania 8 where he beat Flair for the belt. Let's keep going though... Savage/Flair feuded throughtout all of 1992. However, during this Warrior returns and gets a shot at Savage at Summerslam 1992. So now let's say... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II They feud but Flair and Perfect interfere. This resumes the Flair feud and leads to Ric beating Randy for the belt a few weeks later. Savage and Warrior join forces to go after Flair and the newly debuted Razor Ramon. So... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II -> Savage/Warrior/Razor/Flair This is the story for the next few months until Warrior leaves the company abruptly. The result in this is Randy asking Mr Perfect to be his partner and Perfect accepts. This sparks a Perfect/Flair feud as Randy gets off the exit and heads to the commentary booth at the beginning of 1993. So... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II -> Savage/Warrior/Razor/Flair -> Flair/Perfect Perfect and Flair feud for 2 months before Perfect beats Flair on Raw and sends him to WCW. In response Bobby Heenan having lost Flair brings in Lex Luger to go after Perfect. So... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II -> Savage/Warrior/Razor/Flair -> Flair/Perfect -> Luger/Perfect Luger beats Perfect at Wrestlemania IX. From here the narrative shifts to being about Lex Luger. Lex initially seems focused on going after Bret Hart and there is hints that they could face off at King of the Ring 1993 but instead Lex turns face and goes after Yoko for the belt. So... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II -> Savage/Warrior/Razor/Flair -> Flair/Perfect -> Luger/Perfect -> Luger/Yokozuna Lex feuds with Yoko throughout 1993 and into 1994. He faces him at Wrestlemania X with low and behold, Mr. Perfect as the special guest referee. Perfect screws him over and there were hints that there match at Wrestlemania IX was the catalyst. Unfortunately it never got resolved so the arc dies with Lex getting DQ'd while Bret Hart instead wins the belt. Dusty and Randy quarreling in the Winter of 1990 led to Warrior losing the WWF Title, Randy having to retire early, Randy getting married, Randy getting re-instated, Randy winning the WWF Title, Randy losing the WWF Title to Ric Flair, Ric Flair losing his WWF career, the Lex Express, and set the stage for Bret Hart winning the WWF Title at the end of Wrestlemania X with Lex and Randy both having been on this journey for a long time congratulating him after they set the stage to allow this to happen. So to summarize... Savage/Dusty -> Savage/Warrior -> Savage/Roberts -> Savage/Flair -> Savage/Warrior II -> Savage/Warrior/Razor/Flair -> Flair/Perfect -> Luger/Perfect -> Luger/Yokozuna -> Bret winning the WWF Title at Wrestlemania X How's that?

Didn't the original NWO/WCW story from 96-99 end up with Vincent and Stevie Ray feuding over the rights to leadership of the B team while the big names gradually stopped repping the group/turned face/got injured?
