We know his character has always been about being a snake.
When he turned on the shield.
We he turned on Owens and formed his little stable with AOP and Buddy.
He's down 0-3 to Cody in their WWE all-time feud. Cody's a man who returned at Wrestlemania 38 and beat Seth the same night. Cody beat Seth in a hell in a cell where Cody had a massive handicap yet Seth still lost.
At Survivor Series War Games, he said to him, for one night only they would work together, one time.
With that being said, do you trust Seth and his motivations for helping Cody on the road to Wrestlemania?
It has to be eating Seth up inside that he has not had a win over Cody since he returned to WWE.

If I had to make a bet for who is most likely to make a shocking turn on the Raw after WrestleMania, I think I'd put Seth Rollins' odds at like -500.

Yeah and that's mostly because he dislikes Roman more than Cody. Sure, he might turn on Cody down the line but that's not now while Roman is "roaming."

I would guess that if/when Seth loses his title, he’ll eventually turn on Cody for a shot at his.

I do because let's say that his intentions are bad. They're not going to have him go 0-4 immediately cause Cody isn't losing the title that quick if he does win it. Seth is also mega over, I think it'll be a long time before he turns heel again because the company and crowd is obsessed with chanting the entrance theme

I get asking the question because of Rollins’s history as a character, but this is still rooted in “I don’t trust WWE to give us the happy ending” cynicism, and I hate that we’re always stuck with this.

When Roman showed up at the Kick-off, Seth said, "Good to see you Big Brother". The Shield always referred to each other as brother. Why does Roman do what he does? He does it for his family. That Periodic Table will have Seth, Becky, and Roux on it after Wrestlemania!
Or...eh, probably not. What do I know!

I trust it because if Cody loses here he's done as a top face.
Also Seth and Cody have teamed up on several occasions since their feud and Seth has made it clear that they aren't friends but he respects him.

Yes because Seth is likely going on vacation after Mania.

I feel like the most likely scenario if they do this whole Cody assembling the troops thing is that they all help him to beat Roman but then Orton kills him the next night.

Seth costs Cody at Mania. Cody wins the 2025 Rumble to finish the story. Jacob Fatu debuts and costs Cody at Mania 41. Cody wins the 2026 Rumble to finish the story...

I actually completely trust his motivations, but it doesn’t necessarily paint Seth in the best light.
Keep in mind this is the World Heavyweight Champion saying this. The same one who a week prior was trying to cast his title as the premier WWE heavyweight title. This was a giant acquiesce of that claim. He recognizes, acknowledges even, Roman as the top and most powerful champion in the company. Though Roman hasn’t beaten him (Seth), he cannot beat him as the World Heavyweight Champion.
All that power, that title, he will eventually want. He’s injured and knows he can’t carry the WHC that far down the road.
But eventually, he can claim Roman’s title. He can claim that power. He is using Cody as a means to an end.
This bleeds into real life, in which Seth, despite always being the workhorse guy, has wanted to be The Guy-Guy.
This is his chance.
Playing chess, not checkers.

I'm going to say yes, purely because I think it is a much much more interesting move than for it to be just another heel ambush.
Agreed that I'd still also expect Seth to want to be getting that title shot against Cody if he helps him win.

I think it'd be more interesting if he actually did help him and then eventually turned down the line because he got jealous.
It's a different time and I'm not suggesting they're at the same level of star power, but Monday night kind of gave me Mega Powers vibes. That's probably how I'd feel if I was a kid at this point in time, at least.
