This is setting up to be a pretty strong ppv card.

I really hope we get Julia Hart at the PPV There's only six matches announced so far, and AEW PPVs typically have around nine or so matches. So I'm sure we're gonna get Julia Hart for sure on the show.

Feel like they've slightly curbed the number of ppv matches recently. But then maybe that was coz they were pretty much doing a ppv a month. I'm kinda missing those giant 13 match cards from 2022
You add a Julia Hart defence here. Not sure what you do with Mox. Maybe run back this FTR stuff with a gimmick. I thought they were gonna pull the trigger on BCG vs Acclaimed but not really done that yet and slightly running out of time

This is shaping up to be one their best PPVs. First one I've had no doubts about ordering in a long time.
The gap between them helps so much compared to the 25 they crammed into the later half of last year. (With the possible exception of OC vs Roddy being announced so far in advance)

Is he on something more then a Legends contract? Because I don't remember those Legend's deals ever restricting appearances like that. Because as far as I know, Legend's deals are just likeness rights deals. You give WWE permission to market merchandise with your face and likeness and WWE pays you a percentage of the merch sales.

Yeah pretty sure Bret appeared while on a Legends deal. Unless they’ve changed the language since then.

I think Nash has long been a consultant to like NXT or something. I vaguely remember Sean Waltman stating that he, Hall, and Nash weren't official employees but had deals to coach/advise NXT remotely

Judging by the T-Shirts they're selling for this the World Title will main event which is maybe a bit of a surprise. Wonder where they put the Sting match? Co-main? Feels like a tough one to have to follow with the emotional aspect to it.

I would put the Sting match as the co-main event. The world title should always main event. I think it has every ppv except when it was the 4 pillars match. Even CM Punks first match back in wrestling in Chicago did not main event.
The match here that confuses me the most is Ospreay vs Takshita. This makes no sense to do. Let's do the Callis Family vs Jericho, Sammy and maybe Hager or against the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. Having Callis want his family to fight is ridiculous unless this for an Ospreay face turn?

I'd say it's 100% for an Ospreay face turn, they're not going to want him to come in and be a Callis Family goon I don't think, breaking him off from them makes him a bigger deal. I don't think putting him in a multi man match for his first match since signing is a great use of him. Get him in a singles and doing what he's best at. Think it makes enough sense personally, Kenny's out, Jericho got spiked with the screwdriver so in kayfabe he's out too and Callis wants Takeshita on the card, so puts together a match pitting two of his guys, guaranteeing him a winner on PPV.

Ospreay is appearing next week on Dynamite, which will absolutely be used to set up his split from the Callis Family. Maybe Don talks too much and says something that rubs Ospreay the wrong way and that's how we get the turn.

This is gonna be wild for me to watch. It will be the first PPV AEW has done that I've watched zero TV for. Wonder if I can find it in myself to binge the last few months?
On paper though, solid looking show. I want Swerve to win the damn thing so bad.

Julia Hart is out for all of Feb apparently so not enough time to build for a title defense unless they announce a filler defense on the go-home show. I think a more likely 2nd women's match will be whoever Mercedes's first opponent is going to be (Serena, Nyla Rose, Thunder Rosa in order of likelihood) to get a strong showing or a squash victory in order to build them up.
