One of the GOATs, Eddie Guerrero beat Brock Lesnar to win the wwe championship in one of the biggest underdog victories in pro wrestling history. Eddie would be the last person to beat Brock in a singles championship match until Roman 14 years later

Until it turned out that Brock was human garbage water and so I ceased ever wanting to see his work ever again, this was one of my all time favourite matches. I had rewatched it just recently and found it had aged amazingly well. Killer psychology, peaks and troughs, Brock, in stark contrast to the Goldberg match, properly committing to the story of this one, the mega pop from the fans and the great call by Cole. Just a great, great match.

To tell the truth it's a match I didn't actually see until years later and kind of still barely remember anything about. Maybe I should watch it again sometime.
If I'm being honest I don't think I'm that huge an Eddie Guerrero fan? Certainly enjoyed his work but never really been one of my favorites. Remember I was rooting for him to beat Brock but I also remember I was rooting for Angle to beat him.

Funny part of this for me was Goldberg, who ran in during this, was promoting "Santa's Slay" at the time.
Eddie's win was great...but moreso for me personally that it led to me seeing him as champ live at the Smackdown before Mania XX and then at the event itself.

I never saw it coming but, one of the greatest upsets I’ve seen easily.
RIP Eddie.

It’s a damn shame and no fault of his own I don’t want to play a game of “who’s the shinier turd,” but I think you can still get away with airing Eddie’s title win. The focus is on him not Brock.

One of the best matches I ever got to see, and the chef’s kiss in this match was the hug he gave his mom afterwards….you could see they (and Mando) were legitimately happy for this moment.
RIP Eddie.

It’s a damn shame and no fault of his own It also means that Dominik can't bring up two of the greatest moments of his Papi's career. Domonik is a delusional heel, he could just say some crazy shit like how Eddie won the World title from Bruno Sammartino and celebrated in the ring at Wrestlemania with his friend from prison, Nailz and get away with it. 🤣

One of my favourite moments in wrestling as a fan. I loved Eddie Guerrero and wanted him to win, and it was one of, if not the only time myself, my brother, and my cousin all watched a WWE PPV together. I also woke up my house when Eddie won, so there’s always that memory for me.

Still one of the best Feel Good Title wins of all time. For me only Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston have come close.
I remember being legit furious when he lost it to of all people Bradshaw.
I know he didn't really enjoy being Champion but I'm glad it happened at least once.

The way that San Francisco crowd celebrated with Eddie always makes me feel good. That's love right there

One of the GOATs, Eddie Guerrero beat Brock Lesnar to win the wwe championship in one of the biggest underdog victories in pro wrestling history. Eddie would be the last person to beat Brock in a singles championship match until Roman 14 years later Kurt Angle beat Lesnar by making him tap to the Ankle Lock in IGF 2007, at the time Kurt was the TNA Title holder while Brock was the physical holder of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship Belt. Beastie Boy was stripped of the title and Hiroshi Tanahashi won the NJPW sanctioned tourney to crown a new champion, but Antonio Inoki declared that Brock was still the champion as nobody had beaten him for the belt, and Angle beat Lesnar to win the strap. Also Seth cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the resulting Triple Threat at WM31, though he pinned Roman and not Beastie Boy.
