Huge Beatles fan. But four movies seem like a little much. And I bet none of them will delve into how they ripped off Clarence Walker. "'She's Got A Ticket To Ride' was originally 'She's Got A Ticket To Ride And The Bitch Don't Care, Man'!"

I am a huge Beatles fan, but a huge biopic anti-fan. Walk Hard got mentioned earlier, that's legit my favourite movie, and it's really made movies like this hard for me to ever take seriously again
Outside of that though, I mainly hate that biopics are just historical fiction - I personally like actual history, big long boring history books that go in depth on all of the facts and events, and even those can be questioned for their accuracy. But biopics are often the only 'history' some people have seen, and so they pass into being a lot of people's perceptions of the actual life stories of these people
But the bigger issue for me is actually that Sam Mendes' work for the most part is incredibly serious, and I feel like these movies are going to be humourless artiste dreck even by biopic standards

I hope they show the same scenes four times and all the George versions end with him walking away and cursing Paul under his breath. So his movie has to come last.

Will it show how the Monkees were a major influence on them?

I LOVE The Beatles, but don't care for biopics. I prefer documentaries, where you get it right from the source, but how can you improve upon the Anthology?
So, I see how this is the way to go, but I'm a stickler for the truth, so I don't think they are made with me in mind, and that's ok. If this brings in some newer fans, then I do like that.

Honestly this could work as a miniseries.
But someone at Sony must really be blinded by their massive nostalgia boner for The Beatles, if think that they can create 4 full length movies based on each member.

This is the studio that greenlit Morbius, Kraven and Madame Webb, none of which anyone wanted. Will it show how the Monkees were a major influence on them? I'd be disappointed if they didn't have the party from the song Randy Scouse Git depicted in some form, with the Beatles, Monkees, Mama Cass and others all chilling together.

If the Beatles are going to be treated as the Musical Avengers, does that make John Lennon Hank Pym?
How do you do a honest film biography of John without addressing the fact he was a horrible person and was fairly open about his abuse of the women in his life? His treatment of Cynthia and Julian will leave a sour taste in the mouth of audiences if they're handled with any level of respect.

They just include exactly enough of it to make it seem like there was a redemption arc, or one that could have happened if he wasn't murdered. John even addresses this himself in his work, and interviews, as you say, so it would ludicrous to not put that in there

It's a shame "Walk Hard" wasn't more of a hit, because it took the piss out of so-called serious music biopics so well that it's impossible to watch one now without noticing all the cliches and hackneyed writing that "Walk Hard" ripped to tatters.

It's exhausting in what it covers and it's like 350 pages before he's even in the Beatles. And he's terrible all throughout. They'll skip over the worst of it.

I listened to yje audiobook, Tune In. The first book in (renowned Beatle historian) Mark Lewisohn's proposed trilogy of biographies of the band. 43+ hours and we only get to them starting to explode in England. To say the least, it’s extensive. If you ever want to know about George losing his virginity, this is the book for you.

The four movies conclude with them finally escaping the cycle by doing their homework with Haruhi Suzumiya.

Honestly, this kind of thing is why I’m pretty ambivalent towards the Beatles. Enjoy the records for the most part, am completely tired of being beaten over the head with them to the point that I don’t really care to listen to them much anymore. Do we really need a Beatles cinematic universe with four biopics? Or is this just the relentless hype machine cynically bleeding more money out of Beatles bores?
