I find it hilarious that Doug Dillinger ended up getting a few WCW video game paydays despite his lack of competence or presence in his role as WCW security. Dillinger is 100% someone that I never played as on Nitro. I also didn’t play as the raptor, but that may have been it.

Doug Dellinger: frequently let fans jump the rails and get involved, but pulled Sting off of a cage so hard in a kayfabe spot that Sting tore his knee to shreds when he landed, ruining the upcoming PPV main event and causing six months of booking to be rewritten. Just a superb professional. No way! I knew that Sting legit injured his knee but assumed it was trying to climb the cage. How the hell did Dellinger keep a job for so long after that?

WCW had ring invasions all the f***ing time, and constant showering of garbage on heels. Dellinger was a f***ing atrocity Honestly, it makes me suspect that he was under instruction to let things be like that to some degree.
It feels very "wrestling" to have that kinda attitude without worrying about any actual harm.

I have a vague memory of Bischoff basically admitting that at some point. That and the trash getting thrown into the ring they thought looked cool so not to crack down toooo much on it.

Back when Shawn Spears was on his Perfect Ten NXT run I really wanted some sort of backstage reveal that Doug was his father.

While it was a cool visual for one or two big heel moments, garbage being thrown into the ring should have been cracked down on hard after Droz' injury made it clear just how dangerous that sort of behaviour is.

I remember going to WWE house shows in the early 90s. Howard Finkel stated that if anyone threw anything in the ring, they would be escorted out (especially if it hit a wrestler.)
Nowadays they sadly don’t announce this.

Wait WHAT?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?!!?! At the Clash of Champions X in Feb 1990, Sting was scheduled to fight Flair for the title three weeks later at Wrestlewar '90. Sting and Flair had been friends, but early in the Clash show, Flair, Ole, and Arn, turned on Sting for taking the title match. Later in the night, The Horseman were in a cage match and Sting was trying to interfere by climbing the cage while people tried to stop them. When Sting got pulled off the cage by Dellinger and others, he landed awkwardly and blew out his knee - torn ACL, MCL, patella tendon - the whole deal. Many have blamed Dellinger for trying to pull down Sting for real rather than a lighter working pull that Sting could've controlled better. Well Sting was obviously out for months and they had to turn Luger back into a babyface to take Sting's spot and feud with the Horseman. That injury would lead to the souring of the relationship between Flair and Herd, who wanted Flair to drop the title to Luger which Flair refused because he promised Sting, which would eventually lead to Flair jumping to the WWF with Big Gold. So in a way Doug Dillinger is responsible for Ric Flair winning the 92 Royal Rumble.
