Perhaps one of the most important documentaries WWE has ever produced is also quite possibly one of its least relevant.
"The History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment," was released in November 2013 to commemorate 50 years since Capitol Wrestling Corporation departed the National Wrestling Alliance and became the World Wide Wrestling Federation.
It should be WWE's signature celebration, a chance to commemorate 50 years of the most popular wrestling federation in the world, and yet throughout 2013, there was hardly any acknowledgment that WWE was reaching its golden anniversary aside from this randomly-thrown-together three-disc DVD which included a documentary that tried to summarize the 50-year history of the company in under two hours - although it is perhaps the only WWE documentary that discusses the Owen Hart tragedy at length.
The other two discs include 10 matches that encapsulate the history of WWE, ranging from Hogan-Andre at WrestleMania III to the Montreal Screwjob to Rock-Hogan at WrestleMania x8.
Does anyone remember this? Does anyone care? And why did WWE seemingly not care that the promotion itself had reached a milestone of 50 years?

I never watch WWE produced docs unless I just happen to be in the mood for Vince-washed history, which is never.

Nobody cares because caring would mean acknowledging Vince, which feels gross, and a lot like not holding him accountable for his evil.
