Getting to expensive. Kept it cause my dad liked his sports but even he says it’s too much. Freaking spectrum, raised the price twice this year already.
Anyways, I was leaning towards YouTube tv or Hulu live. Be good to get rid of the cable boxes and the extra fees for them, and have dvr function again. I remember YouTube being a lot cleaner, less buffering issues, and I was able to watch any channel outside with my cellular data. Hulu is around the same price for their bundle, but someone already gave me access to ESPN and Disney+, so I don’t necessarily need them.
Which do you think is better? Or do you recommend another service? I’m getting it mostly for the sports channels. Unfortunately spectrum has the monopoly on LA sports. At least the lakers and dodgers. The Angels are on some weird regional sports channel, Bally’s west. I’m wondering how much it would be too much of a hassle to get a vpn and watch from a different area code so see local games. Probably couldn’t watch on my tv I bet.

I'm getting ready to do the same thing, I'm gonna go with YouTube.
I'd go with Hulu but I already paid the year for Disney+.

Doesn't Disney still have that package deal where you get Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu together?
Granted, Hulu might not be long for this world.

Ahh that’s good to know I guess that pushes things back in favor of Hulu live for me, since I was using someone else’s Disney and espn+.

Comcast was a monster every month. I saved $110/month switching to YouTubeTV in 2020 and never looked back. Easy to use, unlimited DVR, and the only channel of note that we don't have is the History Channel.

Hows fubo tv?
I saw their channel listing and they have a lot of channels.
Though, weirdly no tnt or tbs which is weird. I can find AEW via alternative means, but this will be trouble nba and baseball games.
I hear the regional sports channels had tax fees for some reason. I don’t know if I want to pay extra fees for angel’s baseball and the clippers

DirecTV Stream includes most regional sports networks, as well as TNT and TBS. Unfortunately, watching your local teams comes at a price: $108.99/month. You can plug in your ZIP code to see what local channels you’ll get. streamtv.directv.com/I cut the cable cord in 2015 and never looked back.

No giving a crap about most sports has saved me so much money.
Since 2014 I have either watched physical media or streamed everything.
Don't watch football or basketball. So no need for a cable replacement like SLING or whatever. At the most I might watch 3 or 4 baseball games a year. And those I can usually find a stream or watch at a buddy's home.
It's odd I enjoyed playing sports. Get bored watching most of them.

For ad-free YouTube videos you need to have YouTube Premium.

The only thing I care about for live TV is sports, luckily here in Canada, both Sportsnet and TSN offer direct to consumer streaming options. Although, sports channels are what carry wrestling here too. So it's a "get two birds stoned at once" sorta thing

Live Sports is the only thing keeping me on cable.... although I'm trying YouTube TV for free right now and it's decent enough. I wish Hulu Live had a free trial. I'm using my parents' Hulu streaming right now and anyday now that ability is going away so I'd automatically be interested in the Hulu Live plus the Bundle.

I went with Hulu Live (the plus bundle), it gave me more with the bundles than YouTube did.
The only bad thing is switching channels, that's a huge plus of cable. Having to go through the guide to change channels is annoying.

Went back to YouTube tv. Aside from the local sports, Got most of the channels I had before. NBA tv, nfl tv, missing the mlb tv but t mobile tuesdays gave mlb tv for free so it works out.
Glad to have dvr again. Can skip commercials live, and don’t have to rely on sketchy pirate websites/adblock/3rd pasty casting app to watch wrestling on demand after they air later that night.
Also, there’s a bunch of shows I want to watch on paramount or max that air on continuous reruns on various channels, so I can a build up whole library in a couple days using dvr.
My only only issue seems to be, on that when I fast forward on chrome cast, sometimes they’ll insert an unskippable ad.. That’s weird. It doesn’t do it on Roku or the app itself on my phone.
