Private televised ceremony is the way I'd go.
The crowds chanting in the middle of speeches annoys me.(granted I haven't watched a HOF in a long time so idk if they still do that)

Private Ceremony- No crowd chants and no risk of talent getting attacked by stupid fans.

Talent only, the fans don't deserve to be there with the way they behave.

Agreed on the private ceremony, and I would add that as well as the the shitty behaviour, the overblown and contrived attempts to make it seem prestigious and important in the eyes of fans - especially the horrible, cheesy Hall of Fame "theme" that existed at one time and might still with the synthesized drums and eighties guitar parts - and just their mere presence actually cheapens it a lot.

I like the aesthetics of a stage with a podium with talent in the audience.
I'm not against having fans, but it should be common sense how to act...and anyone who is being belligerent should be removed. Seriously, it's those kind of moments that reinforce the stigma that wrestling fans have gotten.

I've never liked the fans being there because they act like wrestling fans at a Raw or Smackdown instead of attempting to have some decorum. Not to mention the scary Bret Hart incident from a few years back. Keep the audience to the current and honored wrestlers, WWE employees and executives, and their guests.
