The more I think about it, the more I think that was a really clever segment. Okada comes out the tunnel and his star power immediately says he's a big deal. He takes down Kingston, establishing him as both a heel and a threat. He then basically replaces Omega in the Elite, positioning him as a top tier wrestler. Even people who have never heard of Okada before should have seen that he's a huge deal straight out of the gate. I'm sure some people on Twitter are doing the "who and why shoild I care?" routine but AEW absolutely explained both of those things in one segment. I wanna see the mental gymnastics from people explaining how AEW hasn't explained how Okada is a big deal but WWE has with Jade Cargill by just having her stand around and stare at people while commentators say she's a big deal.

She also showed up frustrated to a Smackdown contract negotiation, didn't sign, and disappeared again It's really riveting stuff... and yes the Rumble was great, she's over just by being her, but there's a slow burn and then there's like... very clearly being stumped or nervous at how to treat or debut her in an official manner. And the people who suggested her first big opponent be Nia, I cannot express how much I never want to see that lol

Is that actually happening? I'm seeing more folks trying to say that this somehow defines down Okada or something or makes him the third wheel.

In their defense, I think something more was planned but the health issues with her mother probably stopped it until the Rumble. Now everything after the Rumble? Yeah, no excuse for that but I also haven't seen anyone try to make those leaps yet. Knowing Twitter, someone probably has, though.

You can tell they have big plans for Okada as they actually made a good shirt for him:

You can tell they have big plans for Okada as they actually made a good shirt for him: Yeah, I was surprised about how cool that shirt looked. It does take them usually about 2-3 tries before they find a good design.

Heel Okada is going to be a nice change of pace for him.
Looking forward to the feuds with Kingston and later on, Omega, in addition to brand new opponents from the AEW roster.

Poor Kenny, his nearest and dearest keep dumping him and immediately replacing him with the aces of Japanese promotions. What's next? He's gonna pop round to see Ibushi for comfort and find Kaito Kiyomiya sitting on the couch with a grin on his face. He'll call Hangman to see how things are going and Page'll say "So I've been getting really into STARDOM lately and Mayu Iwatani has some great ideas on what I could do to get back at Swerve."

Any mix they use of Okada's theme is bad if it's not this one I love that the lyrics are basically "the bad guys keep cheating and injuring Okada, why doesn't Gedo do anything about it?"

Okada is always at his best when he's being an absolute jerk so I'm very excited for him to be a full-blown heel.

Kenny gave his thoughts on last night Should probably show up to work instead of airing his grievances on a public forum like this! Unprofessional!
