Hangman does not make any sense in this! They mentioned reluctantly suspending him and his heel run is just starting/he's entirely focused on Swerve. I don't know who can team with Kenny right now, but it definitely should not be Hangman. I'd say Ibushi but that dude's probably out for most of the year with how f***ed his ankles got. Kingston being involved and him and Danielson seemingly burying the hatchet makes me think it could even be Bucks/Okada vs Omega/Kingston/Danielson at some point which would be sheer insanity, but we'll have to see how this develops, it's too early. I think when Hangman comes back he goes to his friends for help in dealing with Swerve so I'm thinking 4 on 4 with it being the Elite (Bucks, Okada, Hangman) vs Eddie, Kenny, Swerve, and pick someone...let's say Hook for shits and giggles

I loved it. Bringing Eddie into this angle is also very smart because everyone loves him and it will get Okada over as a heel. The EVP gimmick is absolutely gold I am loving it. I have their new theme song in my head a lot of the time now as well.

Of course I understand the excitement over getting to seem him tangle with people he's familiar with from New Japan (Kenny, White, Ospreay) again, but I'm also hoping we get to see him against guys like Fenix, Darby (when he comes back from Everest), Garcia, Swerve, etc...

Yeah this was done perfectly. Completely fresh with Okada being a heel and the whole Final Boss thing for the Bucks is exactly what I wanted. The immediate set up in the short term with Kingston and the long term with Kenny was fantastic. They could have gone the safe route and had him come in and help his Chaos friends and be a face just happy to be there, but I'm really glad they've done the total opposite.
Amazing signing too, getting he and Ospreay so close together is some going and with Mercedes coming next week it's shaping up to be an incredible year.

I mean his first feud seems to be against Eddie, and that's definitely a fresh matchup Also as someone who watched Eddie for like 15 years the fact I can say he's going to feud with Okada on mainstream television is insane and I couldn't be happier that it's real lmfao

Him replacing Kenny Omega in the elite is perfect. So many long-term implications in long-term storytelling there.

To think we might get multiple amazing rematches out of Okada in the Elite.
Young Bucks vs Hangman/Omega II Okada vs Omega V

Corporate shithead heel Okada sounds like it could be a blast. It’s honestly much more interesting than just bringing him in as New Japan Okada. I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with it.

It didn't sound different in the slightest to me. It is overall the same song...but it isn't. It is specifically that guitar rift portion as the song really kicks in....the NJPW portion goes hard lots of drums and guitar where as the AEW version has the guitar but the drum portion sounds a bit shallow. Is probably just me though.

I'm SO GLAD we're not getting New Japan Okada. That dude made me stop watching.
And I know he was being safe with Eddie on that Rainmaker, making sure he was in the right position and ready, but I just watched a dude turn heel in slow motion and I cackle laughed.
It was like if you're playing pinball, and the ball is stuck at the top of a bumper and just slooooooowly decides to fall down, and then clotheslines you.

This is so much better than if he just came in as babyface NJPW Okada. Great decision

Maybe the arena's acoustics too.

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough but I just listened to his Forbidden Door entrance and this one back to back and I sort of heard what you meant but then I heard those drums, just fainter, in the version from last night. Interesting stuff either way, I'm surprised he kept the song.

Might have been a one night thing because and it was just a portion of it that made it sound different to me. that portion from 18 to 30seconds is what I was refering to. Like it is overall the same song that portion just really stuck out to me because that is the main big rift of the song.
