OK is Joe Flacco a HOF QB? He won a superbowl and it's mvp and his run to the superbowl is legendary. But you wouldn't put him in because 1 postseason push doesn't negate all the other negatives. Same goes for Eli The accurate comparison would be Jim Plunkett with two rings, not Flacco. But if you look at playoff records, it's not all that crazy: Drew Brees 9-9 (HOF) Kurt Warner 9-4 (HOF) Jim Kelly 9-8 (HOF) Jim Plunkett 8-2 Eli Manning 8-4Dan Marino 8-10 (HOF) Bob Griese 7-5 (HOF) Fran Tarkenton 6-5 (HOF) Philip Rivers 5-7 Warren Moon 3-7 (HOF) Dan Fouts 3-4 (HOF) Those eight wins came in the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowl runs. Meaning in his 16-year NFL career, he never won a playoff game outside of those two years. It was four one-and-dones. I just don't see how someone becomes Hall of Fame worthy because they played out of their ass for two playoff runs and did squat the other 14 years of their career. If he didn't play in New York and didn't have the Manning Media Machine pumping him up at every turn, he wouldn't even be under consideration for Canton.

I'd rather have Robert Horry's career than Karl Malone's, too. But the question is Hall of Fame worthiness over an NFL career, and in that regard, Eli Manning isn't in Dan Marino's zip code.

I never said he was a better QB than Marino. I still think Marino is a top 3 QB ever. Eli isn't close to that. But why does it matter in what time frame his wins came in? Who honestly gives a shit? Why are we putting fence posts around his greatest accomplishments? You didn't seem to have any such problem setting those fence posts around putting Manny Ramirez in the Hall despite steroid use. He brought up Eli's playoff record, I asked about Marino's playoff record and you changed the argument. Horry and Malone isn't a good faith comparison.

It matters who he beat as well

But I do feel like Eli's criticisms have been largely overstated due to b3ing Peyton's brother. He got derided on draft day despite being a great arm talent playing on a below-average team in a great conference, seemingly just because of who his brother was.

If Eli does not have the rings he is a very fringe HOF who probably just has to settle for having his jersey retired by Giants. His criticism has def been overstated in spots tho. When you take his career overall into totality, he stands with and above other HOF players. When Eli got his chance, he made it count and that is all you can ask for

A couple rings, pretty clutch, gave the GOAT the business, but wasn't a truly elite player.

Compare that to Anthony Richardson’s responses about similiar issues. Richardson has had some notable accuracy issues but just as many of his incompletions were due to concentration drops, receivers reading the defense differently than him, and a couple of routes given up on by the rookie Mitchell. Still, Richardson claims all of the issues are byproducts of his issues and asserts that when he takes care of his own business the other errors will cease.

Groper Cleveland earlier said its not his job to run either and that's why they don't do many qb run plays
