I think the list of people who are actively bad in the ring has been a lot smaller in the last decade (but then I’m also a lot more generous than some fans). I think Nikki Bella fits the criteria best because the entire division and the expectations for it changed and she really stepped up and showed she could still hang (while her sister struggled and ultimately failed). I never thought about that. The whole division changed styles around the middle of her run, and she was very able to adapt. She is underappreciated for that. Remember she was also wrestling injured for much of 2015. It sucks she more or less had to retire due to wrecking her neck with the rack attack finisher.

I imagine WWE keeping her working hurt for ages entirely so they could erase AJ Lee's record with a belt they retired less than a year later anyway didn't help.

Nikki Bella and Trish Stratus come to mind as far as the ladies go and although I wouldn’t say Miz and Mark Henry are great, they improved light years from their debut.

They're probably more like good or very good, but:
Nikki Bella Mandy Rose (Very similar to Nikki) Liv Morgan Jacy Jayne
Lash Legend and Lola Vice have also been starting to put it together recently. I can't really think of any men off the top of my head right now.

I will forever feel confused on why everyone thinks Nikki became good

Honorable mention to Omos, who started off really bad, but looked to be getting pretty decent and now that he is, WWE have taken him off TV.

So far most of the examples are simply inexperience.
The only "bad" wrestler I can think of who seems to be improving is Nia Jax. Although it's too early to tell if she has actually become a safer worker or she was just being super careful recently because if she injured Rhea Ripley her career would be essentially over.

Trish Stratus, Cena, and Undertaker.
You could really put every great worker on this list. I'm sure none of them were that good when they first started.

Trish Stratus - Unlike Lita, when Trish first made in-ring debut, she was really terrible and by the time she won the Women's championship at Survivor Series 2001, she started to improved. 2002 was fully the year that Trish improved the ring because she held her own with a good technical wrestler in Molly Holly and had some intense battles with Victoria and Jazz as well.
Nikki Bella - the moment her in-ring skills had improved was around 2015 when the Four Horseman was started to make noise around WWE. Her battles with Charlotte helped Nikki improved in-ring skills. Nikki was part of the Women's Revolution as she was the top woman in the women's division at the time and passed the torch to the next big female star in Charlotte Flair.
The Miz - He may not be a great worker like Orton, Rollins, Styles or Rhodes but he became a good in-ring worker thanks to his great 2016-18 run as he had excellent battles with Dolph, Rollins, Balor, Cesaro, KO and Sami.
Nia Jax - she improved very good in the ring as she had great battles with Becky and Rhea as of late. This 2nd WWE run of Nia Jax has been good so far.

Trish Stratus, Cena, and Undertaker. You could really put every great worker on this list. I'm sure none of them were that good when they first started. I say that Brock was good when he first debuted. During his rookie year, he had great battles with The Rock, Undertaker, Hardy Boyz and RVD while even giving Big Show and Test some of their best matches ever. Lesnar at a very young age had the athleticism and agility while being a total freak of nature as well. Him doing a shooting star press for someone his size was amazing. Brock was so talented early in his career as he became WWE champion while being the Face of WWE (besides Triple H). Just like Brock, Randy Orton was so talented early in his career as he had great in-ring skills while had the natural charisma and amazing mic skills as the Legend Killer. Orton was able to put out great matches with the likes of Foley, Benoit, Edge, HBK, RVD and the Undertaker at a very young age. His great in-ring work skills is one of the key parts that made Randy Orton a huge top star and main eventer in WWE at the very young age of 24 and he remained in the main event scene and top guy spot ever since.

Trick Williams. It’s easy to forget with how much he’s come along that right at the beginning of the 2.0 reboot he wasn’t much chop at all. That’s the guy. Dude looked like a baby giraffe in there tripping over his own two feet whenever he tried to move.

Eve Torres toiled for about five years as a Diva Search winner and perennial competitor in bikini contests and costume battle royals, and then in her last year in the WWE she suddenly got really good in the ring.

And then promptly left, much to my chagrin. Kaitlyn/Torres was low-key the most solid feud of what was generally a pretty lackluster time for the product.

I used to work out to the revived 2010-era Superstars, and I remember one day seeing Chris Masters on there and actually stopping what I was doing to watch his match. He was very impressive considering I never cared for him during his original run.

What's crazy is that Kaitlyn left WWE just a year after Eve did.
