It's still surreal to see stuff like this, honestly. It's not really sunk in that he's gone.

I want to start by being honest that I was never a big Wyatt Family guy, though I appreciated his matches with Bryan and the Shield trilogy, as well as that hardcore match against the ECW guys on Raw later on. I also liked that technically speaking, he has a match credit with Nexus against Bret Hart's team at a house show. How crazy! Anyway, at the very least, I appreciated some of his matches and his general creativity, but it just didn't really click with me. It was The Fiend, and all that initial build-up, that really made me go "oh shit...this is cool." Mick Foley was in the ring on Raw when all of a sudden the lights gradually power down, then you're hit with these lights and terrifying noises, and there he is - this scary presence. He uses Foley's own mandible claw to viciously incapacitate him. That was unsettling to watch in my 30s, I can't imagine how scary that was for kids. They managed to do something safe with Mick Foley that simultaneously looked devastating & put over this Fiend as a terrifying threat. Fast-forward to the build up to SummerSlam, and we get the entrance with the badass song and the Bray headlamp, and he just demolishes Balor. I know that run is less than ideal by the end, but I'll always love those initial months where The Fiend is the one of the coolest most interesting things I've ever seen in the context of wrestling.
This'll be sad to watch with his family being interviewed. It's still hard to believe that he's gone.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Coincidentally, I went through the Firefly Fun House part of Showcase on 2K24, and won the Mania Champions Rumble with The Fiend today.
This is going to be an emotional documentary.

This is out now. Not watched it but seen that it ends with a teaser shot of Uncle Howdy which seems like kind of an odd choice. Get him coming back but feels weird to tease that in something like this.

I'm kinda glad in a way they included the Uncle Howdy teaser here. After Bray's death I thought any connection to Bray's world would run a risk of exploitation like we saw with Eddie in 05-06. But after watching that doc... man, I wholeheartedly buy into Taylor doing this.

Anyone trying to see this as another Eddiesploitation case is missing the forest for the trees.

Not available on the UK WWE Network like the Cody doc so had to sail the high seas.
Overall I thought it was well put together, the last 20 minutes or so made me tear up.

That was an emotional roller coaster.
Could the Uncle Howdy tease have been saved for TV? Yes. But I also wouldn't mind Bo carrying on his brother's legacy.

It was funny to me how all the news at the time was "the identity of Uncle Howdy is a close-guarded secret only known by a few people. he arrives in the costume and leaves in the costume." and meanwhile there's footage of him backstage with Bray and LA Knight in costume but without the mask on.
