In person, not on video, not pictures you seen.
Been to plenty of shows in VFW halls or civic centers and bars.
Oddest for me is
1.In a metal building a volunteer fire department stores their trucks and gear. Building has no power,no water no bathrooms.
The fed,Battlezone, held shows here off and on for years now. They got 2 portapotties out front or "Take a walk into the woods and find a bush Pimp!" The head booker of BZ calls everyone pimp. For power they run a generator to have lights
2.A fire department parking lot. Same fed and same town as #1. Now parking lots shows arent that uncommon. But this one.... There is no place to really park a car ,cause the ring eats up 3/4ths of the parking lot.
So you have to park across the street at the church. Or park 4 blocks down the road at a nearby Dollar General.
Been to 2 shows at this venue. First one was summer of 2020. July 9 or 11,can't remember, and it hit 108 that day. The second time was late in the year of 2022. It was so cold that the ref who reffed every match after 2 matches went into the locker room and borrowed a jacket from someone.
I wasn't at but know of a fed that for a year ran shows in the back room of a Bowling Alley.

I don't think it's that strange, but a night club and a roller skating rink.

A few years ago, we had booked a show with the expectation it'd be an outdoor show. However, weather wasn't cooperative so we had to scramble to find a way to hold the show anyway. At the venue, there was a little garage where we could set up the ring but the ceiling was too low to use the top rope and we basically used tarps for a makeshift "locker room".

I saw a little people wrestling show over a decade ago in a bar because they were handing out flyers outside of it. I don’t remember much except I had a hot dog and one of the wrestlers did a shooting star press. Life changed from that day forward.

Nothing that strange but I went to a show in Eastbourne which Doug Williams & Mark Andrews were on. It was on an industrial site and also had a skating rink and a kids playing area. If I had to park my car there in a foreign country I probably would have thought it was a death trap.

As a kid, I saw a wrestling show at a Fireman's Picnic (not sure if those are common or a Midwest thing - it's basically a mini small town fair that serves as a fundraiser for the local fire dept). The ring was set up on the grass outside of the food tent. This Fireman's Picnic was known for it's pork chop dinners. I remember there was this superheavyweight wrestler doing a Haystacks Calhoun gimmick who was in the Battle Royal main event. He was getting ganged up on by everyone else in the match when the ring announcer said "Just a reminder, the winner of this match gets all you can eat pork chops following the match!" and he immediately threw the whole pile off of him and threw everyone out in quick succession. The crowd got a big kick out of it.

Good strange: NXT house show at The Tower Theater in Upper Darby in 2017. Really unique setup with the fans all on one side while ring/entranceway was on the stage. Like watching a wrestling play or concert.
Bad strange: A very early days CZW show in the vacant lot behind a bar in Smyrna, Delaware. Highlights were the shocking appearance of ECW SUPERSTAR….Lou E. Dangerously and getting to see Sick Nick Mondo getting stitched up outside the bar on the way to our car.

I wasn’t at the show, but I still find it strange that they held the 1995 Bash At The Beach on an actual beach.

The Avanti's Dome. A giant inflatable dome that hosts outdoor sporting events, complete with astroturf.

If so, I always find it an unsettling place for wrestling. Froggy's Bar and Grill from Dover was a better looking place in my opinion though. No idea if they're still open.

A local indy fed in my hometown i attended when it was around held shows outside a run-down former Auto Parts store, Also had shows in parking lots outside various Delis. While these were a bit of unconventional locations. It did have a kinda cool atmosphere.
Same indy fed held a match during a christmas parade via a custom wrestling ring float.

Guess it's not that uncommon a venue, but a local company set up their ring in the center of Dallas Market Hall and had their show as part of a big swap meet.
I wasn't there in person for this, but AAA recently held a mini-show in Victory Square outside of the American Airlines Center before a Mavericks game.

I wasn't there in person for this, but AAA recently held a mini-show in Victory Square outside of the American Airlines Center before a Mavericks game. Back during late 2020 some DFW based fed was holding shows in what appeared to be an almost dead mall. Piles of empty stores. Then one with a ring in it and like 20 chairs total around the ring. Was where I first saw teh Pizza chef wrestler. EDIT-I wasnt at these shows but they were on IWTV.

At least 10 years ago,and I will find the footage,Powerslam Productions rented out a big storage unit. Put their ring in it and was using it as their wrestling school. Which became them trying to do every 5 weeks a show there. It got shut down fast by the storage unit owner. Main event from the only show held there that got filmed. I didn't make this one.

Between myself and Bodyslam Media Productions I couldn't choose which PSP match from the Little Theater I should post.
The McComb Little theater had wrestling at least 8 times a year for almsot 3 years. After putting hte ring in the place there was barely room for 90 people.
Decided on this match ,cause it was the first PSP show I went too. And since it was filmed from right by the ring you can see how small the room is. Most of my footage and Bodyslam Media's footage you never see the crowd.
EDIT-While this is on the Bodyslam Media Productions channel,it wasn't shot by him. When PSP folded he started ripping the dvds they released of their footage and uploaded it to his channel.

Shriner's ballroom.
Interesting seeing wrestlers walking the hallways full of framed photos of the Shriner dudes.
There was a giant chandelier above the ring too that I remember lol.

How about this.
All the venues that Shotgun Saturday Night took place during the first six weeks during that shows tenure? Especially NYC’s Penn Station where the camera caught the big screens showing what is now Bloomberg TV. I am willing to bet that Bloomberg TV had no problem with them being shown on an unpopular wrestling show (especially one that was shown late at night) because realistically they could. That’s why channels like HSN when they sell Direct TV or Dish Netowkr, the salesman say that they can’t show a random channel like CNN.
How about MGM studios where Disney had fireworks going off during the matches due to Disney tradition?
