How could you mock Eric? This man was cooking in 2011: He looks like a Neil Young who came from an alternate dimension where he wrote songs about how great Ronald Reagan is, and who hates farmers.

And who was only successful when he was in the cSn with Hollywood Crosby, Stills Pac, and “Big Sexy” Graham Nash.

Honestly the fact Bischoff is a regular strength asshole and not a sex criminal makes him pretty low on the wrestler asshole scale

Honestly the fact Bischoff is a regular strength asshole and not a sex criminal makes him pretty low on the wrestler asshole scale Yeah he also had one of the better responses to the Vince allegations than a lot of wrestlers too. I dont what his deal is with AEW, but it's his opinion at the end of the day. This two are grown adults acting like children.

Lol I'm confused what exactly did Bischoff do to make people hate on him so much You mean besides help to kill one wrestling company (WCW) via incompetence, nearly kill another wrestling company (Impact) via incompetence, have no measure of success since 1999 yet tout himself as some wrestling genius, use his "business" podcast as a way to grift, and just generally be a complete and utter douche? I dunno. You tell me. I mean, on the list of wrestling personalities’ transgressions, I’d say that all falls pretty low on the list. People talk about him like he’s some Cornette podcaster saying sexist and racist things. That’s why I’m sure to some people it seems like the reaction to him here is really based on his AEW criticism.

I find the whole framing of "it's because of AEW criticism" really weird because Eric Bischoff has never been liked in online wrestling circles. He's always been a beloathed figure. I remember fifteen years ago when he and Hogan came to TNA, people hated him then too, and probably even harder even if you account for inflation. and that was before we had the gift of hindsight telling us that the things he pushed for hastened the company's collapse. He's not Double Hitler, but for whatever merits there are in disliking him as a personality, as a booker, as someone who has continued to be involved in the business and comment on it, the guy's hate goes back to the days when Tony Khan was an awkward teen posting on wrestling forums, it's not "because he said AEW bad"

Guess he ran out of weeks to talk about Dude scorched the earth with most people in the business so honestly, it'd be on the same level if certain other Podcasters stopped, don't blame Tony, who extended an olive branch early on to Eric and just kinda wound up getting spit on tbh. I think it’s just the business podcast stopping, not 83 weeks.

Everything is someone else’s fault, he couldn’t do anything about it or prevent it from happening, standards and practices etc. Like he isn’t “uses other people’s credit cards to pay for his debts and still owe people money from 30 years ago” like Paul Heyman or “being Vince McMahon” like Vince McMahon but he did have a part of causing damage for WWE’s biggest competitor in WCW and its biggest alternative at the time in TNA and holding almost zero responsibility for it. It’d be like Jeffrey Katzenberg did a podcast about how badly streaming services were doing. Any insight is overruled by the fact he was adamant Quibi was going to be a thing.

Also, why are we acting like Bischoff didn't do sexist and racist things? Like, actionable things, aka his booking of women and minorities? Namely women?

Given that Bischoff made AEW appearances early on, I have always kind of suspected that he tried to grift his way into some sort of booking/production role with AEW and/or "offered Tony some friendly advice" that got turned down, and that is what drew his ire.

Eric Bischoff famously titled his autobiography "Controversy Creates Cash" specifically because of what a well liked and respected person he was.

I’ve never listened to a second of Bischoff’s podcast, but isn’t one of his things that he just flat out lies about stuff from the past to make himself look better? I could swear there’s stories where he’ll say Meltzer lied about X, and Dave has said that this was something Bischoff personally told him.
He’s also the poster child for wrestling bookers actually doing cringeworthy things. He was a martial arts master in a semi main match of Starrcade 97. He challenged Vince McMahon on TV to a match. He opened an episode of TNA playing guitar.

He also had pictures of Missy Hyatt falling out of her top, taped all over the locker room. Someone had that picture up in an office at Turner, plus at the time it happened, Bischoff was in charge of WCW's TV production only. He wasn't the boss of the company yet.

Bob Dhue and/or Bill Shaw would have been responsible for handling a HR issue in WCW in early-1994.

He made out with Miss Elizabeth multiple times on screen while he was in WCW. And don't forget how he treated Miss Tessmacher on camera in Impact too.
