One of the things that has gotten more annoying to me on Collision has been Nigel McGuiness' announcing. It started with his legitimizing Jay White's taking the AEW title and has continued with how he describes Christian. Like Corey Graves used to be on WWE, he's just trying too hard to be a heel and he is no Bobby The Brain.
But the most annoying things are the digs he's constantly making to Bryan Danielson for no apparent reason other than he just doesn't like him. I gather they had some kind of rivalry in the old ROH, so that would explain it but otherwise all the 'clam digger' BS (which I don't understand) and other comments when Danielson hasn't done anything warrenting it or hasn't ever responded is just annoying and pointless IMHO. The only way I can see it redeemed is if Nigel is eventually healthy enough to have a match. As I expect, am I the only one who feels this way?

Bobby Heenan held on to a grudge in kayfabe against Hogan his entire career. It's a similar situation here. That said, Nigel has said he's been back in the ring lately, so who knows, All In is coming up.

All In. Nigel has been cleared and has gear made. The rumor was he was going to be in the Stadium Stampede match before Bryan was injured. If All In is where Bryan retires, then why not against one of his greatest career rivals that he ended his ROH career against.

I love Nigel in ring (and on comms) but even so I find Danielson vs Nigel at Wembley a bit underwhelming. Especially as it will be Danielson's last full time big stadium show. Perhaps could be his last full time match period. Danielson can do better. And thats not a dig at Nigel but he's not worked either in a decade.
Also not sure the type of match they would have. Very slow, very mat based and technical, lots of clever little psychology spots etc is the type of match you want in a huge stadium where 80% of crowd wont have a clue

Nigel and Bryan have been rivals since the early days of ROH and a final match between them is a long time coming.

Honestly even without a match, I like the consistency when a character just has someone they don't like regardless of the face/heel dynamics at play.

Each to their own but I love Nigel's commentary.
Nigel definitely wants the match and has been working hard to be in ring shape and cleared so I think it'll happen. I know a lot of people think it'd be underwhelming for All In but I think that's the perfect place for it. Maybe that's just me or maybe it's because I'm British, who knows?

Bryan isn’t retiring he’s just going to part-time, so I don’t see any problem with running Bryan/Nigel at All In. The way he’s talked he sees himself doing 6 to 8 matches a year so there isn’t any reason to believe this would be the last stadium show he’d be a part of.
Even if it was there is a ton of history between the two and Bryan is so good that I’m confident he could still pull a good match out of Nigel if he ends up having severe ring rust.

Bryan isn't full on retiring at All In 2024. He's retiring from being an active roster wrestler. He's still going to do big events/stadium shows. He's just not going to be week-to-week in-ring.
SO, that in mind, a returning Nigel would be a perfect final opponent.

Having digs at him for no apparent reason...other than him being his biggest career rival. You've even alluded to their feud for goodness sake. It was one of ROH's greatest ever feuds, if not the greatest. He's heavily hinted he wants to wrestle again in interviews, he's trained for it, had gear made and taken clear digs at Danielson for missing last years All In, clearly indicating he was set to do something with him. A wild guess but I'd imagine Danielson hasn't responded for all this time as it'll make the moment he finally does more impactful. Otherwise he'd have just told him to shut up the way Copeland has, a guy Nigel's never going to actually wrestle. Danielson digs clams as a hobby, hence calling him a clam digger, Nigel's just taking the piss out of Danielson for having a dorky hobby. I can understand being annoyed at Corey Graves' announcing because he's not a very good announcer but as with many things you seem to make topics about you seem to get really put out by the most minor shit. He's a heel announcer so he sides with heels, usually the most dastardly ones, and he dislikes a wrestler he had a huge rivalry with, a guy who got a chance in WWE when McGuinness didn't, a guy who won a world title there around the exact time Nigel wrestled his final match in front of a small crowd of people on an Indy show. Should a genuine feud emerge between them I'm sure that sort of thing will be brought up on screen, with McGuinness being considerably more intense than he is when he's being a tongue in cheek asshole commentator.

Nigel calls Bryan a clam digger because Bryan literally goes (or did go) clam digging.

Nigel wrestling at Wembley is like Saraya getting to wrestle at Wembley to a certain degree. A return for him would be a selling point for his fans in his home country. Hell, it's a selling point to me in the states, because I've seen Nigel wrestle live and I would love to see it again.

Nigel and Bryan have been rivals since the early days of ROH and a final match between them is a long time coming. A rematch would be absolutely incredible, short of miraculous, considering both men's careers. Hell there was a time not that long ago, many of us thought we'd never see Danielson wrestle again. A return match for a countryman, many didn't believe would step in the ring ever again, is willing to have one more match. In front of his homeland, he returns to fight his bitter rival Bryan Danielson. Yeah, I'm sold.
