The whole being released immediately instead of in 90 days thing is a double edged sword. If a talent is making more on their AEW contract than they will elsewhere, they lose out money-wise. One doesn't get paid during the 90-day no-compete period, or am I wrong?

It’s 90 days’ notice that your contract is being terminated at the end of the 90 days. You technically still work for the company during that time and receive your salary.

They do and it also gives them an option to still use you during that time ala Heath Slater and Drake Maverick (which was very tasteful around the time of the pandemic. And when I say “tasteful”, I mean “dirt worst”).

Releases always suck, but curious about the report saying they’re considering what’s good for the wrestlers when picking names here. Not sure what that means, but guess we’ll see. The most baffling ones are Dasha and Henry. With Henry, I’m guessing he was on a per appearance deal, so I won’t be shocked if he’s back sooner than later once he’s healed up. But Dasha? She was good at her job, always came across great at live events with the fans, not sure what the reasoning is there. Also, kind of have a minor crush on her, so selfishly that sucks, as well. They also had some real great matches in CHIKARA... before Quack basically drove them out by forcing Stu into a mask. sounds like We need the return of 'Smooth Sailing' Ashley Remington >_> Oddly enough, he had a split second cameo on ROH a couple of weeks ago; Dalton told Johnny TV he was bringing in a “friend” to face him, and when Lexi tried to find out who it was (there was a dressing room door hastily marked as “Dalton’s Friend”), Dalton briefly stumbled out in a captain’s hat. The Boys being gone mid storyline is weird, too, but it wouldn’t be the first time Dalton did his act more on his own or with others in the Boy roles. I didn't hear about that, that's fantastic... of course he can't actually be Ashley Remington for the same reason Orange Cassidy had to become Orange Cassidy. I just liked the gimmick of "Dalton Castle pretending to be high society by owning a yacht." >_>

Tbh that was before Kosha Irby was hired, and people have been asking TK to get someone "ruthless" ala Nick Khan to help him deal with some company decisions and now they got that person.
Kosha also likely shook his head when he saw the Marketing and Live Event departments(other areas he oversees besides Finances)

TK needs to learn to be more careful with what he says publicly. Anyway, that new Matt Hardy contract ain’t gonna pay for itself 🤷♂️

Yeah but as said above, it's not Kosha firing these people. He can't just fire anybody he wants it is approved by Tony.

I am curious to see what all if anything else comes out. The only one that really doesn't sit right with me is Anthony Henry cause he's hurt... don't get me wrong anybody losing their job sucks but for many with how AEW allows talent to work it probably isn't a huge change for them overall.

Didn’t Anthony Henry get hurt outside of AEW? It’s gonna sound callous as f***, but he shouldn’t be AEW’s responsibility to look after. That’s the double edge sword of these looser contracts, if you go work Podunk Indiana and get hurt on a day off from AEW that shouldn’t be on them to pay your medical. You either get an agreement with the promotion you’re working that night to cover any medical or you accept that you’re taking on that risk yourself.
Or, TK just bans people from working Indy’s on their off days. That would be the trade off

TK/AEW should pay for his surgery. Also imagine if Charlie Dempsey got hurt in Japan and WWE didn't pay for it.

Yeah the last bit does make it a little different to WWE releases I guess. Dasha is a sad one though, Jose too, they're either going to have a job or not you'd think, can't see many paid per appearance deals for people in their roles.

Was gonna post that, looked like even a couple days ago he was going through a rough time mentally. I'll give a lot of things the benefit of the doubt but does seem like the Anthony Henry case was a shitty one

I was going to come in here and give AEW the benefit of the doubt, because it seems like a lot of these releases are people who weren't being used at all, and for whom a release may well be mutually beneficial (i.e. Gravity and Boudreaux going to work on a more full-time basis in Mexico).
But, in light of Anthony Henry's tweets, this is a shitty situation for sure. The optics of cutting someone who didn't want to be cut while they're injured definitely aren't good.
