Are we only including Tony’s AEW business? If so..
Can anyone give me any information on AEW’s financials as their means to justify voting him as the worst of the two? Literally anything.

There are probably people still waiting for cheques Heyman wrote in 1995.

Has to be Heyman right now right? I mean Tony is by no means perfect but AEW is still going and as far as I'm aware there's not even any rumours of them closing their doors and the people that work there are all getting their money they're supposed to get.
Whereas Heyman...

Paul Heyman couldn't make ECW work financially when wrestling was at it's hottest and he shat all over every single company that was willing to do business with him in so public a manner he left the company radioactive, he also sabotaged every attempt to keep the company going, lied about going to try and save the company and strike new deals in california while filming a movie instead, keeping talent, talent he wasn't paying, hanging on while he readied to jump straight to the WWF. He wasn't just bad, he was actively malicious as far as I'm concerned, playing the victim when guys like Mike Awesome got tired of being lied to, fobbed off, actively avoided at shows to avoid any discussion of payment and went to WCW where their cheques would actually clear. The only reasons Paul Heyman isn't regarded with the same level of ire as a businessman and a promoter that the likes of Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter are is the fact he's a good promo and be books good. Say what you will about Corny as a human being but he at least tried to settle up SMW as best he could and use his position on the WWF to get his guys jobs, Heyman ran ECW off the edge of a cliff then waved to the talent hurtling to their demise from the safety of a commentary seat on Monday Night Raw. Damn. First time I've seen the details about the bankruptcy in full. I really wish people would stop attributing all of Tony's success in business to actually being Shahid's doing. yes, his dad being one of the richest people on the planet is certainly a leg up, but Tony isnt some babe in the woods who doesnt understand business or anything like that. dude's owned and run sports franchises successfully for years. Fulham's still shit. LOL. I'm sure Sheffield United fans wish they were as ''shit'' as Fulham.

I need to make this abundantly clear. I am including Vince McMahon when I say this. I am including Fabulous Moolah when I say this. I am including Dixie Carter when I say this. I'm including any number of outlaw mudshow bullshit artists when I say this. Paul Heyman is the single biggest financial abuser in the history of the wrestling business.

Tony Khan, to my knowledge, pays his talent on time. That's enough to put him ahead.

This would have been a closer/more interesting poll if the question was who was the better booker/creative mind, since mid to late 90s era ECW was really well presented for the shoe string budget they had to work with.

Man, talk about a thread that worked against its goal.
I knew Heyman was bad with money, but WHEW. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did a quarter of the crap he did.

I mean this without any of the associated baggage, but the actual reasonable comparison people arguing against AEW are really trying to make should be in favour of Jim Cornette. Smoky Mountain Wrestling was a heavily acclaimed but niche appeal wrestling promotion trying to stand out against the other promotions of the time that had backing from Rick Rubin weirdly enough up until his investments dried up and they failed to get a TV deal. You want to talk about a promotion being able to sustain itself through having enough money to keep paying people and rough through the loss years on the way to profitability? Smoky Mountain. The real, actual comparison is to Smoky Mountain. If Jim Cornette had infinite money, Smoky Mountain would have been stayed on longer and survived through the shifting tides and likely downturns to come as the Attitude Era ramped up a few years after its real, actual closure.
But Paul Heyman? Even if you take away the criminal acts of fraud he engaged in to keep the lights on--and you shouldn't, it's unreal to me that "Well Tony doesn't need to commit crimes because his dad is rich, so the jury is still out" is being said and I struggle to buy it in good faith because of how atrocious it is--there's still the relentless self-sabotage of a man who was angling well before the piper asked to be paid to tranistion into a cushy job with WWE instead.

Remember that time Heyman gave Chris Jericho a fake name and identity to get him onto a plane to "fly to a funeral" and it was told as this quirky lil tale?

I remember them saying He got a ticket for Ron Simmons under the name "Nelson Greenberg" or something similar. Shockingly the Con man in this poll isn't the guy named Kahn EDIT: Speaking of Airplane Fraud, I'm almost certain I remember hearing the reason Heyman got fired from WCW was getting caught in some scam involving frequent flyer miles
