They got Jarrett already there, so let's hope for a MMA team with him and Jack.

My dream scenario is that we get Brandon Cutler telling the story like Charlie Murphy talking about the time he played basketball against Prince

Whatever this shows it will only entrench existing opinions - Elite fans will say he's unprofessional, Punk fans will say he was driven to it by the Elite's unprofessionalism. Full disclosure, I'm in the latter camp. Which is a shame as I really like the idea of AEW and was fully behind it when it launched. I really don't see releasing the footage as working out for AEW. If it shows that Punk was an out of control maniac, Tony still booked him to beat their future champion after it happened. And Punk was completely professional and calm when in front of the paying fans. Smacks of Tony Khan being so worried about being popular. Which again supports the idea that it's a nepo-baby's play thing rather than an actual business, sadly. Actually, it's the manchild who attacked a coworker for doing something that he built his reputation on's fault for attacking his coworker for doing something that he built his reputation on. Proof in point - entrenched opinions will be even more entrenched the more this crap drags on. I doubt releasing the footage will earn dollars, sell tickets or change minds. Which begs the question - why bother? Just seems petty and unprofessional.

For the record, the moment I believed they were working was when Alverez said that’s what he heard.
Considering it seems clear for a while he and Meltzer haven’t had the sources on AEW they once had and were wrong or at least half right about stuff, now they’ve been told that’s what’ll happen on Wednesday? Come on, now.

Which again supports the idea that it's a nepo-baby's play thing rather than an actual business, sadly. The more I see these takes about "Tony Khan is worried about being popular and is such a nepo baby" I do have to wonder if people just Men in Black style wiped out of their minds the fact that CM Punk assaulted his co-workers ON TWO SEPERATE OCCASSIONS and then continued to try and act like he was the victim and AEW is "not a legitimate business" I defended Punk for a good long while on this Board, I don't know how people can continue to bend this much into a pretzel where it only hurts AEW and The Elite to release the footage that confirms CM Punk is in fact a dickhead, because he himself, will not publicly shut up about the fact none of this was his fault and he is a super cool guy and they are the issue. Tired of Punk taking shots when he doesn't even work there anymore and basically going "Nee nurr nee nurr what are ya gonna do??", glad someone's finally doing something. If, in fact, they are showing footage and it isn't a work.

Got to say it's a bit disingenuous talking about how Perry hasn't been on TV when the guys who are going to be talking about the All In incident just made a huge hint about working with him last week and he was mimicking their moves this weekend. It's very possible they're putting this on TV with the Bucks involved to further an angle, it's definitely not as utterly random as people are telling themselves
I don't really get the stuff about AEW not moving on from Punk either when he's been the party doing the vast majority of leaking, and not just from this incident, and has now started bad mouthing them in interviews too, clearly they've just finally had enough of it. I'd probably just ignore it but you can hardly blame them if they say "fine, see for yourself". Obviously no matter what the footage shows people who backed Punk before still will, but it's like proving things against Donald Trump and people still supporting him, just because they'll keep doing it doesn't mean it shouldn't be made clear he's a piece of shit.

Punk is petty and unprofessional but it doesn't mean AEW have to. This isn't going to change anything. Team Punk will just say 'oh it weren't that bad, he was pushed to this'. I really don't see any benefit of doing this.

We are so back to Scrum Thread hours in here lmfao Is it petty to show the footage? Yes, 1 trillion percent. Is it unjustified? God no. And trying to deflect it to ratings talk when the network has been publicly glowing about viewership headed into contract negotiations? Come on y'all.

I can't wait for the EVPs to start passing out chicken and Starbucks giftcards and then Jack Perry starting posting on Instagram every day about hanging out with the ROH women's roster.

Jack shouting "see, this is a chokehold, Phil, I perfected it in two days!". If it turns out to be 'Technique with The Bucks' and they critique Punk's chokehold technique then... I might think its worth it

Yeah I’m in the camp of it’s a work/swerver/misdirect whatever you want to call it just purely because of the Bucks current character and if it was legit why put it on TV unless it’s to pop a rating
Course even if it does pop a rating we’ll still have to hear Punk defenders talking about how Punk is AEWs best ratings grabber etc.
I just don’t see the benefits of it tbh, you want to defend reputation against Punk, put out a statement and video on YouTube etc
I know it’s tempting to bite back and (justified IMO) but focus the actual show on building up investment in the wrestlers still with you
(Side note, I think it’s hilarious and speaks to Punks character that both times he left a major organisation that they felt compelled to put out video footage of him because of what he said)
