I'm not sure anyone will ever rate higher than the Fink for me but a lot of that is nostalgia as well. She's absolutely incredible though. It's the first time since Fink that I've commented on how good an announcer was during the show.

She's good, maybe a tad over the top. I prefer TNA's announcer.

The Fink is my GOAT. I prefer a more traditional style, but she is a nice change of pace. I think there are very few that can pull off what she does and I am a bit worried about others imitating her that won't be near as good.

Howard’s voice to too iconic in the industry to ever be outdone, but she was incredible

She's been great since Dunn left. Though really the whole presentation has improved significantly since then.

I never understood the archaic approach of preventing staff getting over anyway. She’s your employee, she’s on your television show, it’s a *good* thing if she’s over FFS! Related notes, a couple of changes I would make if I were in charge, pre-match announcements would include saying who the referee is and the show would have end credits listing everyone involved from the performers to creative to production. Ending Wrestlemania each with credits would be a nice touch and thank you to those in production.

I think if she starts crying for every title win it might be a bit much, but if that's the only time she loses it like that, it might be the best ring announcement in wrestling history. The woman with the voice more powerful than some of the wrestlers is reduced to that is pretty special.

Some of her intros were showstealers. She seemed intensely into every single one of them. It would almost have been comical at some points if she wasn't so earnest. I also enjoyed that as she introduced people, she often looked to them. But yeah, she's a fantastic announcer.

I saw some people saying that her breaking down was her like "not meeting the moment" and I just absolutely disagree. That take has some misogynistic undertones for sure.

Honestly not getting it. Granted, this is my first exposure to her, but she grated on me every time she opened her mouth. She's leagues better than Justin Roberts, though. Yeah, I never got her appeal (as an announcer), and still don't. A lot of what she does feels performative and way too over the top and cartoonish. I feel the same way about Justin "JEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN" Roberts as well. Samantha has a great voice so when she announces normally, and less over the top, it does sound good, so I can see the appeal there, but with stuff like Roman's entrance and "Let the War Games begin" and stuff like that, it can be a bit grating. Like many here, I think Fink is the best to ever do it, and is a soundtrack to a generation of wrestling fans, but I don't recall a single time where I sat there and said "man, Fink really nailed that call". Fink was great but somehow blended in to the shows. He was almost background noise that you never paid attention to or noticed. It's the exact opposite with Samantha and really all of the announcers nowadays. With Samatha it might be intentional as she has a camera on her and WWE has posted her reaction to things, so she clearly 1) gets engagement from fans, and 2) is either told to or encouraged to ham it up. Which is fine, it's not my cup of tea, but a lot of people enjoy that, so it is what it is.

Because of what that dumb f***ing idiot has done to that site, I have no idea if that’s the real Michael Buffer or not, but if it is, that’s super cool.

And yet, as I mentioned in the Night 2 rating thread, I love me a good Crazy Pride Lady announcing call... but there's something very hit or miss for me with Samantha's announcing : sometimes it's perfectly fine, and sometimes it just feels forced, and just unnecessarily over-the-top for the match announced. It might just be me not gelling anymore with WWE's overall more artificial, overproduced and performative vibe, though.

That was so cool. As I was watching it live, I thought she was losing her voice and then I read on Twitter that she had been emotional. She is exceptional as a ring announcer.
