Let's discuss that statement.
Do you agree with Triple H?

17 is still the greatest. Think it is in the conversation for top 5.

Night 2 alone is atleast in the top 5.
It is not better than 17 and 19 though.

Usually I'm all for dunking on HHH, but I think a case can be made just for night 2 alone. 17, 19, 30, 35 (if only we had the two night format then) and 40 would probably be my personal top 5.

Certainly my favorite.

Night 2 is up there. He also seemed to be basing that statement not just on the basis of it being the “best” or most enjoyable, but on all of the gate and viewership records (highest gate of all time and most viewed - apparently up 78% over last year’s Mania).

It’s up there for sure. Few things in life have ever gave me the feeling that Cody winning did.

Mania 40 was def more feel good than 17. If it’s not first, it’s second

I have no stance on the matter, but for as much shit as night 1 got, I feel like it’ll be received a lot better when people go back and rewatch it.

I don’t want to go into recency bias, so I won’t say it’s #1 until a much later rewatch.
However, I think it’s safe to say it’s top 5 and definitely was the most rewarding for the fans as a conclusion since 30.
17 is my favorite, but 40 definitely got me in the feels a lot more than 17 did. Both are reminders for why I became a fan in the first place.
3, 19, 30, 35 also rule.

Maybe in terms of money they made, but Wrestling 3 is still the cultural zeitgeist king. Andre the Giant getting slammed > 3 Cross Rhodeses. Also has the legendary Savage vs Steamboat.
Night 2 was a real good show, so I'll allow HHH the benefit of hyperbole. (Night 1 on the other hand, was a dumpster fire)

Only insofar as it was the First Vince-Free Mania.

It's a contender for certain, whether fans will look back on it in 20 plus years with the same fondness that they do for 17 for example, only time will tell.
But it was a very, very good night of wrestling.

You're right.
I am revoking HHH's benefit of hyperbole.

I have no stance on the matter I guess it is my turn to give my .02 cents
WrestleMania Night 1 began awesome with Rhea Ripley coming out to a live performance from Motionless In White.
WrestleMania Night 2 began with LA Knight and AJ Styles. What? is LA Knight the updated Macho Man with this whole SlimJim schtick?

I feel ranking Manias that happened in one singular night against the ones over 2 nights feels like it skewers alot of things.
I think if 40 happened in a singular night it would be just right outside of the top 10 IMO.

I think it had one of the best climaxes but was not one of the best top to bottom shows. I wouldn't argue against top 5 or top 10 but best ever seems a bit much for me.

I don't know how it's been received in other places, but you know night 2 is great when FAN even likes the Karrion Kross match.
