It's been a while since I have done a thread related to a movie coming out, but hey, here I am.
Okay, I had been curious about this film ever since I saw "Pearl," because I had found out that this film was the third and final film of Ti West's "X" trilogy. Now I remember going to see "X" in theaters two years ago and enjoying it. I am often a sucker for A24 Films. When I went to see "Bodies Bodies Bodies," I saw a trailer for "Pearl." I was able to see right then and there that it was connected to "X" given that Mia Goth played that character (she also played the older version in "X," too). After I saw "Pearl," I found out that there was going to be a third film, but this time it's centered on Mia Goth's character of Maxine from "X." I wondered how it would play out, and now that I've seen the trailer, I am rather excited for this.
For those who have seen "X" and "Pearl," what are your thoughts? Also, what are your thoughts on the trailer?

Damn, I'm so hyped for this, especially if it means we're getting a ghoulish remix of Laura Branigan's "Self Control."
Pearl may be my favorite horror movie of the 2020s thus far.

Really hyped for this , absoloutley loved Pearl and X.
Hoping this finishes as strongly as those if not more because if it does it will go down as one of the greatest horror trilogies of all time.

Super hyped. Really like the first two for different reasons, although this one has drawn me in the most with its setting. Plus that trailer has such a great creepy use of Self Control.

I can't believe that of all the A24 horror movies they've released over the past decade or so, "X" was the one that got a cinematic universe.
It wasn't even that big of a hit, it only grossed about $15 million in the box office. On a personal level, I didn't think it was even all that good. At the end of the day, it was really just another "sexy teens stuck in a remote cabin and get killed off one by one" horror movie, and it was way worse than the movies whose tropes it was trying to rip off, namely the original "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre."
I haven't been in any rush to see "Pearl," and while this movie does pique my curiosity by introducing the Night Stalker into its universe, it's still not nearly enough to get me out to see it.

I was able to see that Ti West had some underlying themes going with X and Pearl. When I watched some breakdown videos on the themes, I was able to see what Ti West was going for, rather than be some run-of-the-mill slasher. If you didn't like the film, that's fine.

You missed out on one of the best horror movies, and the best horror performance, in recent years by skipping Pearl. You also missed what X was about.
