Awesome moving graphic for Giulia Vs Sarreee. Can tell that they need them a bit more in the oven. Yes, moving is cool, but at the very end you need to freeze frame it, otherwise it's just people awkwardly looking at something in their vincinity. Maybe.

Let Fenderbaum enjoy this John! It's bad enough you've got Peter into wrestling! Now I have to learn all their names and companies they work for! Next thing you know he'll be begging me to come to Wrestling shows with you two! So, basically John, just f***ing behave yourself and let Fenderbaum enjoy this! Ok...

What a weird first show. Felt familiar, borrowed a lot of noah's presentation, with ddts lights, tjpw style banners and a smoke machine. This is a big plus. Glad to have English commentary but it highlighted an expectation that I'd be familiar with many wrestlers when I've seen very little of any.
First two matches made little impression, I liked those in the 3rd match but I got a bit distracted, really didn't like the first tag match.
Then thankfully it picked up. Kouki stands out, largely due to a good look and how she carries herself.
Then a great main event. Bozilla being instantly super over helped, she played the monster part well and was perfect for a 1st show. However she looked a bit lost at times especially watching a pin being broken up in front of her. Big potential and it will be interesting to see how she does away from the most experienced stars who can help her.
Also interesting it's building the biggest fued around two with an unclear future in the promotion. Utami felt overshadowed.
I suspect I'll like it more as I become more familiar with the wrestlers.

Glad to have English commentary but it highlighted an expectation that I'd be familiar with many wrestlers when I've seen very little of any. That feels a little inevitable in any new promotion, but it had a particular vibe here. It was notable how Stardom accomplishments were talked about with this air of "this is the Before Times History of our wrestlers," rather than as something that happened at an active competing promotion. It definitely felt different than when Stu talks about any of the NOAH wrestlers' history in AJPW, for example, but all of those except for Jake Lee have been in NOAH longer and Lee had his own accomplishments to talk up within a month. New promotions are inherently kind of interesting, in that way. Promotions rarely get to actually present an entirely clean slate because bankable stars had to come from somewhere, and there always has to be a needle threaded between "this is the new place where you start" and "these people matter because of stuff you may not have seen." It's part of why I think that some fans overstate the importance of explaining things to new viewers - it's near impossible to begin watching wrestling in any way except in media res.

Kouki Vs Nao Ishikawa is another that is gonna slap hard. Also I love how their are no units so it opens up so many great matches instead of boxing them into roles.

I cannot say anything other than casting Sareee as MariGold's first big villan right out the gate is nothing less than brilliant.

Rossy spoke on the current roster size
I would say that 22-25 is a sweet spot for his roster so he doesn't have to overly rely on outsiders but he will round out the roster with the use of alot of freelancers similar to Sareee.
Also have seen some names batted around
Mayu is the obvious one and with her movie now out news on what she is going to do should be picking up steam.
Kizuna Tanaka is another as she has practically been promised since she was a baby allegedly by her father that she would his new ace
Aoi is the other name supposedly she has been wanting to form a team with Utami

Yeah 25 is a good number.
TJPW will soon have 27 with two of those spending much of their time in America and it works well. Freelancers help especially on the bigger events but there's enough regular people that they're rarely a necessity, it's also enough people to withstand a few absences.

Love that Bozilla immediately knows it’s over when Sareee clutches the wrist. It’s been kicked out of by quite a few top tier names (Nakajima, Yoshiko, Hashimoto, of course Aja, forget if Mayu did etc) but a few years ago it was approaching one winged angel. Don’t think it’s that way now and it’s more like Destino where she has to hit it multiple times to put you away lol

And while overall the Mayu match is the better overall match IMO this is the better Sareee performance she was just in her element as villan here.

Great BTS video on the inagural show.
I always have been speaking about the comradery and you get more of that here and I love how even the stars of the show help set up the ring and is a great way to help eleviate any ego's and show who is really there for the right reasons.
Hope we more of these in the future...hopefully for their first ppv in July.
