No, really, what's the appeal? Why does everyone act like the show is as good as The Sopranos or Breaking Bad? I watched a few episodes, including Sleepytime, and it's just OK. I'm tired of people pretending the show is some masterpiece, and not just an above-average preschool cartoon.

Don't know either, it's even getting timeslots in the afternoon nowadays on Disney channel.
It's amusing and has it's charm but that's it.

It's appealing because it's not Peppa Pig!

I think it appeals to the same adults who like My Little Pony and that peculiar culture

It's strikingly well-done for what it is, which is to say a young kids' slice-of-life show with developed parent/family characters and writing good enough that if you're roped into watching it with them, it's not a drag to sit through. If I'm visiting family and the younger kids put it on, it's not something that evokes groans from the adults in the room, I guess. It's also honestly a rather pretty show that's arguably better-looking than it necessarily needs to be in terms of backgrounds and so forth. I also know folks who like it just because of the mild exoticness of it being a very Australian kids show.
But I dunno who's putting it on a pedestal near Sopranos or Breaking Bad because that's... that's not even an apples to oranges comparison, that's like apples to... I dunno, cigarettes or something. It's not fair to any of the shows involved to try to make the comparison just because of how absurdly different the target audiences are, for one, but people do admittedly love to exaggerate for dramatic effect, so, eh.

I definitely prefer when my kid wants to watch Bluey or Peppa over the kids doing stupid stuff on Youtube videos.

The episodes are short (7-8 minutes), it’s well-made and pretty damn funny. A much better option for kids than Peppa Pig or that asshole Caillou.

I think its one of the very few shows for kids that doesn't dumb down things for a younger audience and there's some jokes in it that appeal to adults as well as kids. It's something parents can enjoy with their little ones rather than having to tolerate it.

You're an adult and wondering why you don't find a children's cartoon appealing?

People are comparing it to Sopranos and Breaking Bad? Yeah where is this coming from? I enjoy watching it with my kids. That’s about it.

People are comparing it to Sopranos and Breaking Bad? I'd compare it more to Black Mirror.

It's a matter of relativity. Watching Bluey with some nieces you're babysitting is a whole lot less grating than Cocomelon or the like. There's some nuance and substance to it, and it isn't mind-meltingly repetitious. I wouldn't watch it on my own, really, but in the context of something you can have on with very young children, it's way above average.

I watched it on my own for a year because at 7-8 minutes long, it is perfect to start the day on a good note because while it is a sweet and colorful show, it is not overtly saccharine and happy but maintains a good balance.
And hey, I always appreciate a show where the creator said that he grew up with golden era Simpsons and incorporates references from that era in Bluey.
As well as appreciating a show that explains stuff like divorce, infertility etc. in a way that children can understand these topics.
