Liv Morgan for Queen of the Ring it is since she didn't win it all here. Watch her lose in the finals of that as well.

I'm going to start this with I love Becky, however she is the safe choice. If you are going to do a battle royale, give us danger and surprises! Becky could have won, but the ropes are greasy and slick, now Indie Hartwell is champ. If they were going to be boring, they should have done a mini tournament or a fatal four-way.

"Hot shot" Becky Lynch? She's been one of the most popular women's stars in the world for years and years. We're not talking about Jinder winning the WWE Title out of nowhere. I can see the point about them getting too focused on Rhea Ripley - totally valid. But they are where they are now, and the point of giving it to Becky is to give Liv a legit foil so that when she does take the title - and it feels like that's the eventual direction - it's not like she just won it in some battle royal. There are legit problems that put them in the spot they're in, but I'm not sure they made the wrong call in this moment.

It's probably also worth remembering that some of the reason they're doing it this way is to make Rhea's eventual return as big as possible.

Why they made that hot garbage the main event is the real issue, imagine paying money to see that end the show.

Also, I don't know if Becky has more appearances coming up for her book, but having the Women's World Championship on screen if she does is good publicity.

This account is one of the bigger pro-AEW accounts out there, so any of their WWE takes should probably be taken with a truckload of salt, if not outright dismissed entirely.

Book Becky to win the title after losing to Rhea? Why is it being ignored that Becky won the title because Rhea is injured. Triple H didn't say "Becky's losing at Mania, but in 2 weeks she's gonna win the title."

Between AIRGold and DrainBamager (who people joke is Tony Khan's burner account), a lot of pro AEW accounts are gonna try and push narratives like the one above.

A Battle Royale is the ultimate chance to give the belt to a total wild card and have a genuine "shock" - give someone like Katana Chance a fluke win - if you don't like her as champ you can easily have her lose the title soon thereafter. The whole attraction of a Battle Royale is that "anyone can win" but in reality we can always narrow it down to two or three likely winners. Throw a big upset in there once in a while to prove that anything can happen and sometimes a wrestler that no-one expected can win.

Those are some way off-base statements. Becky is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time and is in her prime, there’s no “hot-shotting” going on. Also they’ve built up on Raw at least Becky, Liv and Nia to be legitimate title contenders outside of Rhea. Not to mention the only reason Becky was “booked” to win the title two weeks later was due to injury, not due to the original booking plans.

Funny he complains about what happened last night when AEW did the same thing a few years back when Punk git hurt puting the title on established Jon Moxley

I think Liv losing now was the right call, if she won the battle royal now it'd just come off like a fluke while actually directly beating Becky for it will do more for her in the long run plus it gives good reason for her character to grow more heelish, just the match itself sucked. Yeah, I had even suggested that, had they had Nia won, I'd expect they'd do the same thing, Liv beating her for the increased credibility. This is thankfully way less awful, but like you say, the match was bungled. All the more reason to NOT give it to Liv just yet, really.

A fluke Chelsea Green win would have been fun to have for a short chicken shit heel reign

I don't see the argument that Becky is a bad choice to win the top belt. She is a safe pair of hands who is still mega over. And who cares that she lost at Mania, are those same people going to argue Io Sky shouldn't have another run with the belt for a while cause she lost clean at Mania?

Should have been Maxxine. Do the “she wasn’t eliminated and we forgot” spot. Have her lose it next week on tv or in France. Pays off the Becky comment from before the match and does something different for a few weeks.

Triple H has just utterly failed to do so. Now when they had a chance to actually do something interesting, he just went “nah just put it back on Becky” three weeks after she lost clean to Rhea. His handling of the entire division has been a total misfire and this does not help matters.
