Pat’s gonna be the Old Gold team coach at Saturdays WVU “Gold/Blue” Spring Football game….
This is significant for WVU fans because Pat hasn’t had any public involvement with the football team in Morgantown since he left for the NFL…even as his post-football career took off and working with him (and getting his audiences eyeballs on the program) seemed like an absolute layup.
A lot of speculation on why he hasn’t…but most of it being behind the scenes political BS and some of it being a byproduct of a very loud minority of the fan base blaming him for costing the school its best shot at a Natty in 2007 (he got literal death threats because people are f***ing stupid.)
