Dave Meltzer thinks Team AEW for the Blood & Guts match should be an All-Star Team, rather than the one seemingly teased on last night's Dynamite of Mark Briscoe (confirmed), The Acclaimed & Kyle O'Reilly:

"I just thought that team AEW should be a real All-Star Team you know Swerve and Ospreay and Samoa Joe type guys as opposed to The Acclaimed.

"The match will be great but you want the AEW All-Star Team to be an All-Star Team not the mid-card team. You’ve got so many top guys they could put in there."

You don't break out the big guns until you're ready for The Bucks to be vanquished once and for all.

I want any match like this to be stacked but it's not always the smartest thing from the promoters perspective. The Acclaimed and the tag division both need building back up and if this helps then that's far more important long term. As is trying to get as many wrestlers as possible experience in these types of matches.

Besides we've had Hager, Shawn Spears and 2.0 in previous B&G matches so it's still a step up really. Hell Briscoe is probably the most interesting person possible to me other than Darby.

Anyone think MJF could be the 5th guy for The Elite after busting Garcia open on Dynamite? Or will Hangman eventually join or side with Team AEW only to swerve er Swerve.

Still think it'll be Hangman. Elite will book Swerve in it to tempt Hangman into it.

Really not sure about Team AEW. Briscoe is a great add. Swerve as team leader. If Darby is back intime then he would be great. I guess that leaves the Acclaimed to complete. But they just don't seem like a Blood & Guts type of team. Perhaps they will benefit from this and chance perception of them with this match

I can see the thought process behind stacking the teams with all stars, but you're also taking those all stars away from every other possible story line and match they could be doing.

So far, this story has been big and important, but it hasn't been the single dominating story. If you're going to put all of the top guys in it, then it needs to be the most important thing on the show, every show. It needs to be the focus of everything. AEW hasn't positioned it in that place, so I don't think choosing all stars is as important.

Maybe a good comparison is the Invasion angle. That had all of the top guys involved in the big 5 v 5 matches but it also took over all of the shows. You would need that kind of focus if you're going to stack the sides with Swerve, Ospreay, MJF, etc. Maybe AEW should have done that, maybe they shouldn't.

Swerve I could see. MJF and Ospreay would be ok, but they’ve done a good job of showing MJF can’t stand the Elite and doesn’t play well with others. You also take away other important angles going on if you absorbed them all into Blood and Guts too. Having the Acclaimed is no different than having Daddy Magic or Shawn Spears in the match, so I don’t mind them.

In my opinion, which is always wrong, if anyone is turning in this match inside the cage to help Elite win its Max Caster.

Something about his character lately seems off. You could see him as final member #6 of the elite.

Maybe sowing seeds for Elite vs BCC at some point.
It's the sort of thing that could escalate over weeks or be forgotten.

Would continue the trend of the heel team winning Anarchy in the Arena, then losing B&G (The JAS in 2022 and BCC in 2023. They won AITA, then ended up losing B&G).
