He’s always going to be the shitbag Bullet Club leader in NJPW to me.

TNA not ever committing to making Styles THE guy is such a ridiculously stupid decision

TNA not ever committing to making Stylea THE guy is such a ridiculously stupid decision While all these guys game in during his time: Sting Mick Foley Ric Flair Kevin Nash Kurt Angle Ken Anderson Booker T Jeff Hardy Scott Steiner Christian Dixie was too big of a mark for anything WCW or WWE during AJ's time unfortunately.

I get Angle because he could still go at least in the earlier days of TNA. Hardy, I get the initial push at least, Sting is one of my boys so I don't mind him being one of the top guys. But, yeah, AJ should've been THE guy for a time at least in TNA. Still had a lot of memorable moments at least. To this day I'm baffled as to why they put the TNA Championship on Mick outside of the fact that he's a legend.

But yeah AJ absolutely should have been the main guy in TNA who the show was built around especially when they tried to restart the Monday night wars.

TNA not ever committing to making Stylea THE guy is such a ridiculously stupid decision He's the future and in one or two years he's going to be big, Sug! (ignoring that at that point AJ Styles was like a multi-time grandslam champion.)

Somehow all of the ways TNA didn't use him right are still less foul than when Dixie tried to claim he, Gallows, and Anderson had all signed TNA contracts in her home and WWE better not debut him in the Rumble. What a terrible place that was.

Spent 12 years being dubbed “the future” of wrestling by TNA despite holding every title they had, plenty of them multiple times. Losing AJ was TNA’s biggest bag fumble by miles.

I dont think TNAs fumbles with him have much to do with his match count. He was usually heavily featured even if not as a main eventer or top guy. I would say it has to do with WWEs house show schedule. TNA didnt really have them for a long time. So while he has been working 4-5 days a week in WWE for much of his TNA run it was once a week (or twice in one week off the next).

Refined down to just matches he's had on TV, he's still 100+ matches behind in terms of passing his TNA run (471 in 11 years for TNA compared to 338 in eight years for WWE).

AJ Styles combined TNA world title reigns = 14 months. AJ Styles 2 WWE championship reigns = 16 months.
That is mindblowing.

I don't know what's gonna be the wilder stat: Kurt Angle having spent more time as an active wrestler in TNA than he ever did in WWE or AJ Styles having spent more time in WWE than he did in TNA.

This is like the inverse of finding out that Kurt Angle spent more time in TNA than his first WWE run.
