One semi-recent one that I feel is underrated and I loved were the “Inside So Cal” skits. Being So Cal born and raised, the characters were perfect, but I always wondered if you had to be from here in order for them to be really funny. Wish they did more skits. It was a spiritual successor to a lot of the stuff Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett did on YouTube before they joined the cast. Lots of really funny stuff in there if you look it up. Yeah dude! I saw them a few years back. Need to revisit!

The couple of live news skits where they're looking for people and they all have funny sounding names (Mark Peanus, Holden Tudiks etc) always made me laugh, despite the juvenile humor.

Another underrated gem from the 2010s cast: the American Girl doll store explosion where Mikey Day insists he was only there to buy a gift

Honestly, there's very few misses for me between 1981 and 1998. That's the era I grew up with, and enjoyed. I do think the weird 1985 season 10 is especially underappreciated, especially with the talent they had on the show that year. The opening with the flying hot dogs and cockroaches is still my favorite opening.
Someone mentioned it on here, but muppet segments of The Land of Gortch weren't bad,in fact they had the potential to be pretty good. SNL was always meant to showcase variety, but it eventually just stuck to the sketch segments and musical guests for the most part. It's a shame the writers hated Gotcha because an edgier muppet program could have been really good. I'm also biased because I'm not much of a fan of the early years in general.

Oh almost forgot, I love the surreal-ass parodies of TGIF shows that Kyle and Beck would do. possibly the best comedy pairing in the show's history and I don't say that lightly.

The Celine Dion show skits were always gold. [CELEBRITY] hosts a talk show is usually pretty good.

I'll also mention that Gail Mathias probably should have been spared during the dreaded 6th season.
She got enough of a reaction and was versatile enough to recover from the issues that had plagued the cast.

To me, those along with Weekend Update with Norm McDonald are my three favorites.
