I’ve noticed it a couple times during the in ring intros, I think nxt and Mike Rome in particular.
They’ll announce just the persons name. No weight, no home town. Just
The challenger, Ethan Paige! And the champion: Trick Williams!

yeah... maybe I'm too old school, but I don't like not having hometowns and weights announced (even if they are gimmicked). I can kind of accept it with the women as the weight thing isn't as acceptable, but for the men it just makes it more "legit" (even if it isn't, LOL).

It’s just an NXT thing and it’s been that way for a while.

I brought this up in my Battleground Thoughts. When I was a kid, I used to write down everyone's hometowns & weights. That's how I got started doing Wins & Losses. It sucks they don't do it anymore. I miss The Fink.

It's really annoying when they announce one person's hometown, but not the other. Most often this is because the heel is from somewhere nearby and the company doesn't want them getting a pop.

It’s an NXT thing. They never do in NXT. Idk why It’s just an NXT thing and it’s been that way for a while. it's weird, because they used to do it a lot. I remember because they'd actually announce the cities of the Japanese/European talent as opposed to Vaguely just their country, which is something Vince would never do on the main roster.

They don't do it in NXT because everyone there just lives in Florida now and it would seem redundant.

They don't do it in NXT because everyone there just lives in Florida now and it would seem redundant. You can still just announce where they lived prior to joining the company. A large majority of the main roster has had tons of talent living in Florida for years. In WCW pretty much every one was living in Atlanta but they still announced them from where they grew up in.
