Maybe not “new” but: A Marvel beat ‘em up in the vein of TMNT:Rise From The Shadows or the new Double Dragon game. So you got: - Multi branching storyline like the fan made Streets Of Rage Remake (with 5 possible endings) - character trees (based around brawling/tech/support) - customizable combos (so each character feels different) - team attacks - If we gotta go the BS micro transaction route then put each characters (8 to start, 24 max) top 10 costumes as regular unlockables, then go deep cuts with the sales (1602, AoA, etc).. - Arena Vs mode that like Power Stone - 4 player online/offline drop in - and SQUIRREL GIRL!! To keep it away from Infinity ANYTHING, I’d probably base the story around “Acts Of Vengeance” where the villains swap up, or maybe “Dark Reign” with Norman Osborne in charge of SHIELD and ,Cap/Thor/Tony off the board. You lost me at Squirrel Girl. Begone blasphemer. Lmao jp

Open world superhero game akin to Spider-Man but you get to make your own hero. Have a choice of three origins to choose from at the beginning, gear focused, power focused, magic focused. Skill trees to take your character through to customize your powerset, different travel powers (flight, super-speed, swinging through the city, teleportation, "batmobile"). Unlock different outfit options throughout the game, numerous outfit slots, choice of secret hideout. Just don't set it in a silver age type setting. That's like a dream game to me. This feels like what DC Universe Online tried to do, but they didn't fully hit the mark imo (even outside of being an MMO).

Been on a huge comic book kick lately

A MegaTen Metroidvania, either as its own thing or a Devil Summoner or Persona spinoff. Like imagine something like Aria or Dawn of Sorrow or Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but with MegaTen demons and a huge emphasis on elemental weaknesses. Sure are an awful lot of dick monsters in the area….

I am surprised they haven't tried an American Civil War game yet. There have been a number of strategy games over the years.

THe one that's always been lingering in my head is "Diablo but Sci-fi". Star Wars in particular feels like it'd be perfect for that style of game as you're covered on melee, ranged weapons and of course Force Powers.

Spend the next minute reloading. By the mid 1800s the reloading rate for firearms and rifles had gotten a lot faster and more accurate.
Which would explain why casualty rates were so high in battles as they were still using tactics regarding them from a hundred years ago

I think there was a History Channel branded Civil War FPS for the Xbox 360. I don't remember it being particularly good though.

Hunger Games. Can either be based on the events of the moviee/books, or playing trouble to survive through Games.

Yeah they were still doing the musket load/bayonet tactics. When technology changed... and doing so is why it was sobloody

It's interesting because WW1 had the opposite issue where they thought they had modernized warfare but ultimately just created a slaughterhouse where the battle lines never really changed much.

I am surprised there aren't really any boxing management sims. Along the line of Football Manager. Football Manager always sells well, as do other sports management sims like the TEW Wrestling series. Yet there is nothing for boxing.
I suppose licensing is an issue. But could easily just go the TEW route of having a generic game with made up fighters and let people mod their own database and the like to get the real ones in.

Technically there are some games out, but they are quite low budget overall.
But I am really surprised there hasn't been a major Doctor Who title. The nature of Doctor Who means you could do different gameplay styles and it'd work -- an Uncharted style game, a mystery game, a horror game with the Weeping Angels, an "The Quarry" style interractive game.
Not to mention, the fact he's a time travelling spaceman means you can go all out with the different stages and levels--the past, the future, other planets, space ships, prison ships. Whatever.

I would be shocked if Telltale weren't hammering the BBC was emails about doing a Doctor Who game during the studio's peak. The Telltale formula and Doctor Who would have worked best with a historical mind you, where the ends are about potentially rewriting history.

With all the video game advancements in the last 40 something years, they could release Atari games that actually resemble the awesome artwork on the covers.

If there were ever to be a big budget Doctor Who title, if I were making it anyway, I'd want to get most of not all the Doctors represented. Obviously there'd have to be recasts here and there, but I would still want to represent as much of the franchise as possible. Kinda like how LEGO Dimensions did it IIRC.

If I had a game development studio you best believe I’d make a D&D-style fantasy-based sports series. Imagine an American football game featuring various racial teams. The dwarven team are shorter, powerful but slow, never tire or get hurt, and excel in the run game on both sides of the ball. The elven team are faster and more nimble, but they’re a real treat to knock around. The orcs are stronger versions of the elves that actually can tackle but struggle to catch passes. The humans are balanced but aren’t exceptional at anything. So on and so forth.
