I think whenever he turns face again he can win it as a Thank You Veteran run. Maybe 2026, he beats cocky heel champ Bron Breakker at the UK and loses it back to him the next PPV

I base this on nothing other than I'm a little drunk, but IF it turns out that like Murrayfield or Hampden have been negotiated to host the next one I think he wins there.
If not, Drew you utter bastard for agreeing to his shite lol.

If he doesn't I sure hope the money is worth it at least on that new deal.

Were people really expecting him to win? If he did, it’s a helluva blow to Damien Priest. It was obvious Punk was going to screw him out of it.

Lol, no.
The people in power at WWE find it hilarious to f*** ppl in their home countries/towns.
The only reason The Witches won was cos of the terrible weekend poor Kaylee has had.

I understand Drew not beating Roman in 2022, but Drew absolutely should have won today. I think he lost because Gunther is going to win the WHC at Summer Slam, and Drew will face Punk there.

If he doesn't I sure hope the money is worth it at least on that new deal. I mean he’s booked as pretty much a top 2-3 talent on the show in the biggest company in the world. I don’t think he really needs a world title win in his home country to be happy about his booking.

Last thing I want for McIntyre is for him to basically become Asuka and have him rack up title wins, but they don’t count because they’re not booked as “the real run”, so it all becomes this perpetual thing of disrespect somehow for someone who has gotten way more than most.

It doesn't mean it makes it fun to watch as a viewer, and as I said I am sure the money is worth it and I am sure Drew's fine, it just feels weird to have him keep losing the main event when they go to Scotland, like extremely counter productive.

I get your point, but the first show was in Cardiff, Wales. Still under the umbrella of the United Kingdom as a whole, but a different country within it.

And it's even worse to do it here IN Scotland, especially with Damien looking like he legit hurt himself, though I hope he didn't Either way I was far from the only person extremely disappointed by that booking, and if this ends with Drew losing the Punk feud as well after that I can't exactly say I'm enthused about that either.

I'd be stunned if McIntyre v Punk was one-and-done. It screams multiple PPVs.

I hope so but who knows at this point. They could go to Glasgow or Edinburgh or anywhere else in Scotland again and he could be ready to be booked to win and get injured or something. Or not be as over. Who knows.

I don’t think he really needs a world title win in his home country to be happy about his booking. It would have been nice though for him to get that win in his homeland. There is also the very valid criticism of his booking on PPV, since Wrestlemania 37 Drew has a horrendous record on PPV for a top 2-3 talent on the show. His current character arc, him deciding to disregard the words of Noel Gallagher and look back in anger, it felt like was for him to get the big moment finally. It also sets a pretty bad precident for a UK PPV having the homeland hero bottle it twice in the two held events. But then again, I'm not Drew, and if he's happy with his new contract, who am I to argue?
