Division title is still hard, they still have to get past the Celtics who they are def behind but can compete with them plus Philly isn't a pushover Tho yes, Conf Finals should be the goal for this year I think just base on want the Knicks should win the division. You know how it is, these teams and load management, why can't we win the division if we stay healthy. You think the Celtics are going to go all out to win every game like the Knicks do. I want to hang a banner next season for something. And no the in season tournament is not going to cut it. Staying healthy is not something you expect with a Thibs team They have to be careful. KAT has not played a full season since his 3rd year and he missed time last year with a torn meniscus. OG was out with a shoulder injury. Thibs has to use the deep team to his advantage Boston is def going all out to repeat. Nobody respects their championship they just won and Brown did not get put on the Olympic squad while Tatum sat majority of the games. They out for blood. Knicks are going to have a tough task getting past them

First of all, the Nova reunion team never took the floor. Sad. Secondly, the shooting of the Knicks takes a big hit. DiVincenzo was at times their best deep shooter, and now they add KAT who is more of a volume guy. Lastly, the Wolves look UGLY. They always come out of these big trades being beat to f***. You're telling me your frontcourt is now anchored by Rudy Gobert and black hole Randle in the year of our lord 2024? Do they transition to Naz Reid over Rudy? But what about everything you paid for Rudy? They're aimless trash. I think Wolves are slowly breaking it down due their ownership in flux situation. Feels like a cost cutting move and I can def see Naz getting more mins over Randle more likely than Gobert But yeah, Donte was def their best deep shooter. They are going to have to hope Bridges fills that void and I assume they have Mitch (injured) and McBride in their back pocket for in season trades if anything when needed

The issue as you said is health, and with Thibs as coach that probably isn't the best fit. It will be interesting to see how KAT fits with them. A team of shooters around Brunson seems like it would work well, whereas Randle was more of a ball stopper. I think offensively they have real potential to gel. Whether that's enough to get them through Boston is the question. I'd guess no, but I don't think they would have a 0% chance.

I have no idea what Minnesota’s goal is in this. Maybe to unclog their offense? Even so I think it’s a weird fit.

Boston is still def the team to beat and they have an agenda due to feeling disrespected by the league so they are going to be out for blood. However, Knicks should def be competitive. It is probably going to take them 10-12 games to start the season to gel with each other but the way they played last year, if they can do the same they will be a tough out. Knicks need a healthy squad to maximize their potential

The East is a 3-team race again, only for real this time. I still think Boston wins again, Philly goes deep but chokes, and the Knicks mileage piles up at the end of the year. I would feel more comfortable if A) Thibs wasn't Thibs B) KAT wasn't Playoff KAT C) PG was usually healthy and D) Embiid stepped up in the 4th quarter.

If the Sixers choke again, I think everyone in the org loses their jobs, it's basically now or never this season with that Tobias Harris contract off the books.

This is the best team they've had since Jimmy Butler was there. If they can't do it this year, I can't imagine it'll be any easier in the coming years. PG will turn 35 in the playoffs, so the clock is ticking. Martin and Oubre are both swiss army knives that are also surprisingly decent shooters. PG isn't an elite defender anymore, but he's still a tough defender. It HAS to be this year.

With this move if it happens (I still have shellshock to Donovan Mitchel to the Knicks all but a done deal), I expect the Knicks to be at worst in the Conference finals, if they don't make it to the Conference finals, it is a failure and Thibs has to go. Also I expect the Knicks to win the Division title. It is about time the Knicks won a division title it has only been 12 years. Division title is still hard, they still have to get past the Celtics who they are def behind but can compete with them plus Philly isn't a pushover Tho yes, Conf Finals should be the goal for this year Bold prediction but between NY, Boston and Philly, one of those 3 will be in the NBA Finals for the East.

So the Wolves reaction to making that deep ass run was to trade off one of their stars? That makes no sense. On paper sounds like a win for the Knicks, we’ll see how it plays out.
Just a totally out of nowhere trade.

Why do you need to replace Woj? Also Shams is already there??

Why do you need to replace Woj? Also Shams is already there?? Just says he’s a candidate, though I have no idea why you’d go with anyone else. I don’t know how well versed Jeff is in basketball compared to baseball, but considering their bar is SAS and Perkins, it probably doesn’t matter. That said, the fact that they’re considering him for the job raises some questions about the future of baseball on ESPN, but that’s a whole nother topic.

Passan: The Wolves have just traded Power Forward Karl Anthony-Towns to the Knicks for Power Forward Julius Randle and Sacrifice Fly Donte DiVincenzo.
