My stepfather, Tim, talks to the TV. And I don't mean, like, watching the news and saying "that's ridiculous." I mean, like, watching ESPN Classics and yelling "Kick his ass, Haggler!" He knows the fight took place 30 or so years ago, and probably knows who won.
Not to pick on the guy, but he also moves his lips when you talk to him. How the hell is he even supposed to know what I'm going to say? I swear, one of these days, he's going to ask me "So how have you been?" and I'm going to respond with "Banana," just to see if he does it.
My half-brother (same mom, different dad [he's deceased] who isn't the guy my mom is married to now) is 15, so he might have "delayed puberty" as his excuse, but he shakes his hands around when he talks. About anything. And if they're not shaking, they're picking at each other.
My boss mumbles when he gets excited. His mouth tries to go faster than his brain and he gets everything all messed up. What should be "Hi, my name is Jeff. How are you today?" comes out as "Himynmsjfhowreyoutdy?" It's annoying, especially watching him deal with customers.
My dad rambles on and on and on and on .... and never gets to the damn point! To be fair, though, I seem to have inherited that trait from him. He also flies off the handle sometimes, but again, so do I. Must be genetic.
Josh smokes too much pot. Brian likes to sit in the dark. Ben can't speak in a normal, "indoor voice." Teague always wants you to listen to the music he made. And so on, and so on.
Sure, the good far, FAR outweighs the bad with every single one of these people, or I wouldn't associate with them. (except for maybe the family ... maybe.) But I felt as though I should share, perhaps to feel better about myself.
So ... anyone else care to tell us what your friends and/or family do that annoys the hell out of you? Or am I the only one nit-picky enough to care?
