I haven't seen everything, but I've at least seen some of the Cannon cheese like the first two American Ninja movies as well as Enter the Ninja/Revenge of the Nina/Ninja 3: The Domination. The weird thing to me about the American Ninja movies is that Michael Dudikoff is theoretically the main star, but it's really Steve James that rocks in those movies. Dudikoff is...just a guy. Bland, not a major physical presence, etc. Another interesting Dudikoff/James teaming was Avenging Force, which isn't exactly a ninja movie but it's pretty cool. Dudikoff plays the Chuck Norris character from Invasion USA in that one.
As far as the Ninja series goes, Revenge is certainly the best. Enter the Ninja is hurt by the wacky dubbing of Franco Nero, which is curious because you'd think casting a white guy in a ninja movie is a move to avoid that very thing. Kosugi is the actual lead in Revenge and it is one of the best Cannon flicks of the 80s. Ninja 3 tries this wacky possession stuff with the main chick and it's amusing but more of a curio than a must see.

Evidently Dudikoff got the job because he had the James Dean look Cannon was aiming for.

Love the start of Ninja III on the golf course.
Took that footage cut it a bit and called it "Ninja Golf the MOVIE"

Ninja 3 may not be the best 80s movie, but it might be the MOST 80s movie... mashup of ninjas and The Exorcist, with scenes swiped from Poltergeist and Flashdance.

I'd love to see Ninja III remade as a straight horror movie.

It may not have actual ninjas but “The Last Dragon” is the greatest cheesy 80’s karate movie.
The battle between Sho-nuff and Leroy is a classic for the ages.

It may not have actual ninjas but “The Last Dragon” is the greatest cheesy 80’s karate movie. The battle between Sho-nuff and Leroy is a classic for the ages. Sho Nuff has inspired two wrestler/managers in the south. D Ray 3000 worked as Fro Zone in TN indies. Was him done up as Sho Nuff. And now you get Sensai Big Ramp managing people all over the south. And he is doing a Sho Nuff gimmick.
