And obviously, various other spoilers too. Be warned.

Okay, so I have spent 30+ hours playing Saints Row on my 360. Awesome game, it may be a GTA ripoff but a really good one at that. The main storyline is over, one mission left in the endgame. I've grown quite attached to my player character at this point, seeing as I've fully customized him to look exactly as I want him to, having done lots of cool stuff during the story and become a high-ranking member of the Saints.
Actually, the final mission is just a cutscene. I listen to the corrupt new mayor talk a bunch of crap while visiting him on his yacht, and just as I think I get to kick some ass again... there is a beep and the whole boat EXPLODES, apparently killing everyone on board.
Including my in-game alter ego, who is now dead, deceased, passed on, ceased to be, expired, bereft of life, he rests in peace, if he hadn't sunk to the bottom of the sea he'd be pushing up the daisies, he's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible... he's an ex-gangster. Full credits roll. THE END.
I just sat in my chair staring blankly at the screen for a few minutes during and after the credits, asking myself what had just happened.
Now, despite what some people say, this was actually a really cool way to end the game as it kinda reminded me of Scarface with the big gangster dude getting what's coming to him (and I really felt as if I had lost something, after all that time I had spent customizing my ingame persona and going through his adventures), plus the storyline kind of picks up again from there. And it still managed to surprise the hell out of me even though the game prompts you to save before you start the last scene.
Ah, and I forgot to mention... there's a gasp of air that can be heard after the credits roll, implying that you might not have died after all. I missed it as my speakers were turned down quite a bit (it was 5 AM when I finished the game), but it's been reported in various places. Really leaves the gate open for a sequel or downloadable extra content there.

So... any out-of-nowhere or otherwise surprising endings you've seen and want to say a few things about? This is the place to share them. Spoiler warnings may not help much in a thread like this, but please add them in the beginning when you post... just to be sure.
