It's Black Monday in the NFL and so far two coaches have been given their walking papers.
Jim Mora Jr. was fired by Atlanta
Dennis Green was fired by Arizona

No suprises there. Denny's NFL career is likely over, and now Mora can try to get the Washington job.

No shock with Green being let go. Whoever gets that job though could be a damn lucky man. That team is so talented, it just needs direction. And some O-Line help for Edge.

As long as the bidwell's are in charge, I dont think stuff will change. All that talent, they'll figure out a way to screw it up I came to this thread looking for Toomi's comments on this! Here's one of my favorite Crennel quotes, after Antonio Bryant dropped yet another crucial pass late in the game: "He needs to time his drops better." That's nice, but here a concept: How about you teach him to CATCH THE DAMN BALL instead of how to "time his drops better"? |

What exactly does Al Davis expect? He's given Norv Turner and Art Shell NO time whatsoever to do anything, and the team is HORRIBLE. They have very little talent. Aaron Brooks is a sorry excuse for an NFL QB, Robert Gallery has 1st rd. bust written all over him, Randy Moss does NOT want to be there and he will play like it if you keep him there, ditto on Porter.
Davis is f***in insane if he expects a coach to do a one year miracle turn around with that group CFL/Arena leaguers.
At least the D was looking decent later on.
Im not a Raiders fan at all, but it just pisses me off to see coaches fired after 1 season with a team like this that isnt gonna amount to s*** anyway.

God, I'm a huge Raiders fan and I'm upset they took Shell out. Look at how well the defense was doing! With a few new offensive players and SOME TIME they could have rebuilt. They need a competent line and a consistent QB. Brooks is OK, but the mistakes he makes ruin games. It doesn't help when the line doesn't do anything either. If anything, get them a new strength/conditioning coach so that the offensive line can get some decent leg strength. Try some new plays, SOMETHING, but come on. Don't fire a coach after one season.

Farewell to Bill Cowher  We'll probably lose either Russ Grimm or Ken Whisenhunt to one of the other teams looking for a head coach. Dick Hoak our running back coach retired as well. *sigh* Well at least we won that Super Bowl last year, it'll be a while before the coaching staff is clicking well enough together and with the players to win another one. |
