It wasn't the worst movie in the world, but I still hate Tommy Gunn.

The street fight and the "Measure Of A Man" song were the more endearing qualities of that film for me. Also whenever Sylvester Stallone said, 'AY YO TOMMY!!"

My traditional Rocky Montage is replaced with a Rocky training Tommy montage.

The biggest problems about Rocky V for me:
1- The annoying "Don King" rip-off character. 2- The subplot with Stallone's son. 3- Stallone's son
4- The fact that Rocky, who had fought his way out of the gutter, ended up back there again with nothing to show for his career.

This movie stinks. Rocky I is a classic and Rocky II should have been the end of it, but Rocky III was a treat and Rocky IV was cheesy, but fun. Rocky V doesn't exist.

I liked it at least they tried something different than a Rocky 4 like sequel.

I'm with you Diesel. I like V. Stallone's son I could've done without, but other than that...

I loved it. Works on all levels. Before I didn't like the son but now I realize it's lost without the son with the fruity big earing. Remember when he fought the bully and then they were together at Rocky's house for Christmas like nothing happened.
Pauly shows up as Santa Clause
Pauly-HO HO HO
Rocky Jr.- SANTA ISN'T EVEN REAL! BWAAAAAAAAAA
Rocky-Hey yo, what you going round like dat. Doin dat stuff for?

Except for the subplot with his son I agree with you. Plus, why does Rocky still hang out with Burt Young's character (can't think of the name right now) when he screws him? I thought Rocky 5 was okay, but the last one (being poor again) was what made it depressing.

I forgot I was in off topic and thought this thread was about a lack of appreciation for The Rock (Rocky Versus Appreciation)

I don't think it was Pauly who screwed him out of the money (unless something comes up in Rocky Balboa about it). Pauly was just his schlubby brother-in-law. In fact, in 3, he's all but begging Rocky for a job. Which I can't believe would be in the accounting department of Rocky Inc. there.

Apparantly there are contracts that if you sign, you give up everything you own. Pauly just had him sign this one paper and he's back in the neighborhood.

Proof that Rocky's brain was damaged if he let Pauly do ANYTHING like that.
I swear I don't remember that, though. As if it were easy enough to just sign away anything with one paper. (You gotta love the movies.)

From what I remember, some accountant lost/ran off with the money and Paulie was the one who signed the papers authorizing the accountant to use the money (for necessary payments and whatnot). Power of Attorney, that's what happened. Paulie signed over PoA to the accountant.

I'm blanking on that, but OK.
I'm still trying to figure out why they ever brought Paulie along in the first place, jerk that he was.

Now that I think about it, I think Paulie just convinced Rocky to sign over PoA. Good point though, Paulie's lucky Rocky and Adrian are so nice. Even if he is a loveable jerk. ;D

He wasnt a jerk. The robot loved him. Hello PauleyHe must've been crushed when he learned the fate of that robot, whatever that may be. Poor guy. I'm not really a big fan of Rocky 5, but it is fun to watch every now and then and it always gets included when I have a Rocky marathon.
