My bed had storage areas on both sides, so there was always a space between the bed and the wall to allow access to the compartments. I used to have a recurring nightmare about falling into that space, which would grow into a deep, goblin-infested chasm at night. In the nightmare, I'd roll off the bed in my sleep and slowly fall down the chasm, and when I reached the bottom, the goblins would tie me up and torture me by wiring my eyes open so I couldn't blink.
Another recurring nightmare had to do with the idea that I had to get inside the house before the sun went down because that's when the werewolves would come out. I would be playing out in the yard, and then the sun would set and I'd hear howling in the distance, prompting me to race inside.

My fears were a lot more based in reality of was more scared of someone coming through the door. In case you’re wondering the door had to be open. Not sure what the childhood reasoning was behind that.
