But this is not a biopic of the man in the typical way, nor a sports drama, a genre Russell took on with boxing movie The Fighter. Rather, Madden is in part, according to sources, a video game movie. It’s the origin story of Madden NFL, one of the biggest video game franchises of all time.

Inclination is to say that this probably isn't an interesting enough story to be worth a movie, but David O. Russell has a pretty good track record.

If it was about Madden's career altogether (coaching, broadcasting, and the game) it could be pretty good.

Even if it just focuses the game (which according to the article it does)....I mean, who knows? After how booty buttcheeks Unfrosted was, maybe I just feel like anything would clear that bar. I dunno.
