I'm starting a tournament to settle once and for all just what is the greatest sitcom ever. The choices were selected at random. I swear to God. Now let's begin round 1. Newhart Air Dates: October 25, 1982 to September 8, 1990 Episodes: 184 Cast: Bob Newhart (Dick Loudon), Mary Frann (Joanna Loudon), Jennifer Holmes (Leslie), Julia Duffy (Stephanie Vanderkellen), Tom Poston (George Utley), Steven Kampmann (Kirk Devane), Peter Scolari (Michael Harris), William Sanderson (Larry), Tony Papenfuss (Darryl), John Voldstad (Darryl) Premise: Dick Loudon, an author of do-it-yourself books. He and his wife Joanna, played by the late Mary Frann, move from New York City to a small, never-named town in Vermont to operate the Stratford Inn. Loudon is a sane, mild-mannered everyman surrounded by a community of oddballs in a town which exists in an illogical world that runs by rules that elude him. vs. The Beverly Hillbillies Air Dates: September 26, 1962–May 23, 1971 Episodes: 274 Cast: Buddy Ebsen (Uncle Jed Clampett), Irene Ryan (Daisy "Granny" Moses), Donna Douglas (Ellie May Clampett), Max Baer Jr. (Jethro Bodine), Raymond Bailey (Milburn Drysdale), Nancy Kulp (Miss Jane Hathaway). Premise: The patriarch strikes oil while hunting on his land near a fictionalized hamlet called Bugtussle in the Ozark Mountains. He then listens to the advice of friends, neighbors and extended family members, and moves with his family to Beverly Hills, California, with the resultant wealth. Let the voting begin. Voting ends tomorrow.

Beverly Hillbillies
I was tempted by Newhart's final episode though.

Newhart.
Among the best of all time.
Hillbillies got old and boring. It was like the same damn show every week. Alright a few good episodes, but that was about it.
Newhart beginning to end.

Newhart. It was a great and funny show. And, it had the best finale ever; the only time the it was just a dream storyline ever worked!

Newhart wins. Here's the next match: Family Guy Air Dates: January 31, 1999-Feburary 14, 2002; May 1, 2005-present Cast: Seth MacFarlane (Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Brain Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, and Tom Tucker), Alex Borstein (Lois Griffin), Seth Green (Chris Griffin), and Mila Kunis (Meg Griffin). Premise: The wacky, occasionally irreverent misadventures of a Rhode Island family whose number includes a morbidly obese moron; his martini loving, genius dog; his sexpot wife; his gigantic thirteen year old son; his whiny, awkward daughter; and his homicidal infant son. VS The Mary Tyler Moore Show Air Dates: September 19, 1970-March 19, 1977 Cast: Mary Tyler Moore (Mary Richards), Edward Asner (Lou Grant), Gavin MacLeod (Murray Slaughter), Ted Knight (Ted Baxter), Valerie Harper (Rhoda Morgenstern), Cloris Leachman (Phyllis Lindstrom), Betty White (Sue Ann Nivens), Georgia Engel (Georgette Franklin). Premise: Mary Richards is a single woman who, at age 30, moves to Minneapolis, Minnesota after breaking off a relationship with her boyfriend of two years. She finds a job as an associate producer for the news broadcast on WJM-TV. Vote now and voting ends tomorrow.

I'm voting Family Guy, only because I know it is going to get squashed.
Plus MTMS sucks.

Honestly have never seen a single episode of MTMS, so I'll go with the one I have seen and enjoyed, Family Guy.

MTM never held my interest much, so I'll grudgingly go with Family Guy

Family Guy, hell they've even made references to Mary Tyler Moore.

Family Guy, hell they've even made references to Mary Tyler Moore. It would be easier to things that FG hasn't made refrences to, honestly.
